| In a word: no. The purpose of induction is to BREAK the bondage with sweets ... stick to the plan and you'll see great results. Betty

| Hi Kayla! I find that the Mock Danish helps with sweet cravings for me. You can find the recipe on this board somewhere down in the recipe section. While many people believe that we shouldn't be eating any "sweets" at all during induction, for me that just wasn't realistic. I would personally rather have something which is entirely induction legal than end up at the closest convenience store buying donuts or candy. Good Luck!

| While, of course, it's best to have an induction legal treat if you're going to have a sweet treat, the idea of Induction is to face your demons, whether they be sugar or starch demons, and beat them. :yes I always advise people to feed their sweet tooth, but to feed it with something like a pickle or a boiled egg or meat with mayo: but to not give in to the sugar monster. If you can get rid of the root of the problem, you'll be free. Remember this is coming from someone who used to get anxious if I didn't have chocolate in the house, so I know what I'm talking about here. It feels fantastic to not be centering my day around that piece of cake I would have left in the fridge..yanno? |

| 2-3 tbsp heavy whipping cream with 1 1/2 packet of splenda. Or if you have sugar free maple syrup... put in a couple drops. adds a nice flavor. then whip it up into whipped cream. make sure not to overwhip or it will turn to butter. |

| I hate to say this, but Betty and Moochie are absolutely right, you have to try and cut it out completely from Induction, at least during your first 14 days. Did you read the sticky on artificial sweeteners? For some people, even the thought of something sweet is enough to trigger a response and cause a spike in blood sugar - even if you haven't eaten anything with sugar. If you do think you have that much of a sweet tooth, you could be one of those people where eating anything with Splenda could make Induction much more difficult for you. Just think - it's only for 14 days - by the end of it, you could either start using splenda or you may be surprised and find your sweet tooth has gone.

| Well put, tickletussler! :yes Here's a link to a sticky in 14 Day Induction about sweeteners and the effect they can have on some people. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=66389 I fought hard to get over my sweet tooth and while it'll always be a monkey on my back, I think I've done it. Early on, I found that trying to substitute something for the real thing did absolutely nothing for me but make me long for the real thing all the more...so I just dumped the whole idea. I do now allow myself small legal sweet things (home-made though) and I've found that things like strawberries and cream (I'm in OWL) are way more wonderful than a candy bar...and I can eat them guilt free, and also know they are nutritionally sound for me. I've also made creamcheese, splenda, cocoa 'chocolate blobs' and put them in the freezer. They're good...but I forgot about them and they all got freezer burnt! lol |
