| I have eaten at Wendys a time or two.. I say, have the burger minus the bun and ketchup.. or have a garden salad.. just watch the dressing..not sure about the carbs and possible sugar in that particular dressing.. or have your grilled chicken sandwich with no bun.. or, you could fix your meal at home the night before, and take something to eat. Many times advance planning saves us all from eating things we shouldn't. I really don't advocate eating out often because of all the hidden ingredients that may be present in the food. |

| I agree with love2beeamom ... you can eat there, but do it sparingly because you just can't trust that things are labeled correctly. For a real cure of fast food, watch SUPERSIZE ME (yeah, I know its about McDonalds, but let's face it, fast food is still fast food) and also read the book, Fast Food Nation. I used to be a fast foodaholic ... even after beginning Atkins, but since reading the book and watching the movie? :nono :nono :nono Give me real food! Betty

| Thanks, guys. I'm not really into fast food. I just work 5 to 6 days a week and get hungry at work. I definitely won't be having anything fried or any bread. I don't like soda or salad dressing, either. I can also make my own salad and know EXACTLY what goes into it. All of the vegetables are cut up at the store. Nothing is pre-packaged. Should I not have a large side salad and a piece of grilled chicken? I thought it sounded okay. I'm just trying to figure out if you're simply trying to recommend that I don't eat 'fast food' or if there is something there that is against the rules of induction. Cheers. |

| Nothing against the rules as far as salad and grilled chicken is concerned .. occasionally, I see no problem with it. That's great that you're not really into fast food! More people should think the way you do!! :hug Betty

| yeah, the salad should be fine.. my concern was more about the dressing.. but then you said you don't eat salad dressing, so no problem. And the chicken should be okay..unless seasoned with sugar. I have heard folks say that some chicken at fast food places is actually injected with some kind of seasonings with sugar. But again, the chicken at Wendys may not be. Good luck!! |

| I browsed around this forum then had a look through my kitchen and came up with a menu for today. How does this look? Mind you, I'm new at this, so if something isn't allowed, tell me! :yes Lunch: 3 Slices of Bacon 2 Cups Salad (Iceburg Lettuce, Carrots, Red Cabbage, Green Onions) 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil, salt and pepper (on the salad) 30 ounces of water Dinner: 1/2 cup Green Beans. (I can also do brocolli, or more salad, if one of those would be better!) 1 Ground Turkey burger (4 oz, when raw) 1 leaf Lettuce 1 Tbs Mayo 30 ounces of water. Breakfast would be some thing like this: 2 scrambled eggs (scrambled is okay, right? I figure it doesn't change anything but most people say they have theirs boiled. Just making sure Either a few slices of bacon or some left over meat from dinner. Would that be enough? --- I'm so used to eating low fat. My mom was on a low fat diet my whole life, so I ate what she ate. Having to force myself to eat lots of fat will be a challenge. Any help would be appreciated. If I should double the meat here, or eat less salad there, let me know. I'm really flexible. I know I should eat some snacks, too, but I'm not sure what. I might have a few hard boiled eggs with mayo. Like I said, though, I'm not used to eating much. I think it's too late in the day to try to throw in a snack. I'll see if I can get on track tomorrow. It'll be hard, since I'll be at work. Maybe I can eat at work (9:30 AM is when I get my break) then eat a snack when I get home at 4:30, then have dinner at 6 or so. I'll figure something out. I also need to go shopping. Thanks, everyone. :hug |
