| Hi Rich Have you discovered www.fitday.com yet? You can open a free 'account' there and list all your foods for it to calculate all your figures. I use it to plan my menus as I can see at a glance how many carbs I would be eating. Just a few comments about your menus You ought to be using real cream instead of the non-dairy stuff Make sure there is no sugar added to the dill pickles Your veggies are fine - if you only have 1/2 cup of the 'one-cup' list you can have 2.5 cups of the other list. As to your pork rinds - I read here that Dr Atkins used to limit people to 1 cup per day as they are very salty and make some people retain water. You can make your own 'jello' from plain gelatin and a 'legal' sweetener but are restricted to only 3 servings of sweetener a day. BTW many of us found that by not eating sweetened foods during induction (but having a high-fat snack instead) our sweet tooth seems to have vanished! Looks like you made a good start on your Atkins planning. As to not being much of a cook - we have a cooking forum down the index page and there is lots of advice and encouragement on offer from experts there

| Also, it's best for your blood sugar levels if you spread your veggies throughout the day,not all in one meal (although I do see the pickel snack). I don't know what all goes into Spam, but I would read the ingredients and look for sugar and/or starch fillers. The non dairy creamer is a no no. Use real heavy cream. I agree with Elizellen, you're off to a good start. |

| I started fitday a couple of days ago, and using the custom foods, and i noticed that it was asking for alcohol, would that be for the sugar grams in the ingredients? I also noticed on the tomato option, that a slice of a tomato is 3 or 4 grams of carbs, is that round about the general area for a slice of a tomato. Thanks
