Default Not Losing Second Time Around

It's been over two weeks since I started Atkins for the second time. The first week I lost 3 pounds, the second week nothing. I weighed myself Monday, and I had gained two pounds. So, essentially, I have lost nothing after almost three weeks!

Is it possible that Atkins won't work for me this time? Has anyone else tried a second time and failed to lose?

You are having more trouble this time around, probably due to the yo-yoing and your female fat cells going all anarchy on your butt. Are you exercising? If not, now would be a good time to start.

Did you do a wholly clean induction the first two weeks? How much weight do you have to lose overall?

Hi. I just posted to you on the main board. To answer your questions, I was walking but I have not done so in a few weeks. It's been so hot, and I have to work in the morning and don't get off until late afternoon. I know----excuses. But I do plan to get back to my walking routine.

I did not do a clean induction. As you recall, I cheated one day. But that is one time out of almost three weeks.

My net weight loss as of Monday is one pound. I was up two pounds Monday after a three pound loss the first week (no loss the second week).

I answered you in the main thread, too! *l*In induction, espect to lose 10% of your weight to lose. For you, that's 3 pounds, which is just right! Also, water weight can fluctuate up to 8 pounds in a single day!!!

Just start walking a little bit. Do things like parking farther from work and walking, etc. Every little bit helps! Hang in there!

Sorry if I missed it somewhere but have you posted a typical day's menu? Sometimes others see stuff we miss ourselves.

Read the sticky on Slow Scales the Second Time Around.

I think I might have lost 5 lbs in the first 4 weeks. And it's taken me about 14 weeks to lose 18 lbs. VERY slow, but worth it!

Hang in there! Focus on the inches, not the scale. Focus on the food, not where you are trying to get. Enjoy the present! You're doing great!

I didn't lose much on induction when I started back in December. BUT, I didn't have a clean induction. I started around the holidays and I drank alcohol and low carb bread. Once I did another 2 weeks of induction, I did much better.

The first time I did Atkins, 5 years ago, I lost so quickly and I didn't know half as much as I did this time. Who knows! I'm just grateful that I'm losing any weight at all as much as I've yo-yo dieted in the last 15 years.

I usually have eggs or some other protein (chicken salad, deli meat) for breakfast.

For lunch, I usually eat a hamburger with veggies or a salad with meat.

For dinner, I eat meat and one non-starch veggie with a salad or two non-starch veggies.

For snacks, I have fried cheese or a bunless small hamburger with veggies on top.

Sometimes I have a piece of low-carb candy.

I'm 5'4". I am not small-boned, but neither am I big-boned. If I can find a picture other than what's on my web site (doesn't show much), I'll post it.

I would love to weigh 125-130 lbs. The first time on Atkins, I got down to 135 (some days 132). My doctor said 130 would be "nice" but maintaining it would be next to impossible (his opinion). Since I've had children, I have not weighed less than 130 lbs.
