Default starting over again 6/02/08(sorry for long post)

well, i'm back again. i think this is probably my fourth time on atkins, i've always had great success when doing atkins, but my will power seems to always fade around the same time each time i've jumped off the wagon. that time being just after thanksgiving and into the holiday season. each time i always say as soon as the holidays are over, i'll get back on track. well it's june now and that didn't happen and once again i feel like i'm a big fat, bloated blob. my dh and i have always done atkins together, but this time atleast for a while i'll be going through induction alone, he has some health issues he's needing to address(over active thyroid) and is just having the scans and testing for it on 6/02. he will not be seeing his specialist until later in the month and wants to wait until he can discuss with the doc about the nutritional info.(i'm sure once he gets info from doc he will be checking out in depth the forums on thyroid and atkins).

the last time i started this woe, was in july of last year, and i lost 25 to 30 lbs., had made my way up the rungs in owl, and by thanksgiving had made it to the final rung. so just about anything i would fix for thanksgiving dinner was ok to eat, but i did treat myself to a sugary dessert. that was probably my big downfall, cause it made me start craving all the things that comes with the christmas holidays(cookies, cakes, pies).

so now i am ready to start again and determined to be a success at this woe. sunday will be clean out the refrigerator day, and i plan to atleast stock up on my breakfast foods for monday. then after breakfast on monday i can go to the store and stock up on everything else i will need. i am on vacation this next week, so it is a good time to start induction and not have to deal with working in case the induction flu hits me hard.

being on vacation will also afford me a better opportunity to cook plenty of meals ahead of time to freeze and take to work for my lunches. in the past this has really helped me. i plan on making a large meatloaf, a pot roast, plenty of taco meat(atleast 5 lbs worth), and probably some chicken fijita mix(i make this with just chicken strips, as many different colors of bell pepper as i can find, and onions and add shredded cheese to it before eating), then i can freeze portions and also add veggies to my meat loaf and pot roast before freezing.

as far as exercising goes, i really don't have the complete strategy down yet, but i hope to walk around the subdivision by my house(usually do 2 times around) and would like to do it twice a day, once in the morning and then in the evening. then do an ab challenge, if there is one starting up for the month of june, if not i'll do them anyway. then hopefully, once my dh gets his thyroid issues under control, he will be ready to join the gym we've been wanting to join.

i know this was a long post, but wanted to get things down in "writing" so that it holds me accountable and makes my commitment official.

thanks for letting me share, and good luck to everyone and please share any input you can think of.

monie

PS i already have my supplements, and also plan on drinking atleast 100 oz of water daily
