Default Logan's roadhouse

We're going out to eat with the in-laws tomorrow night at Logan's. I went on their website but I didn't see the nutritional information.

Anyone work there or have any ideas on what to order?? I'll order anything and I don't want to be an ***. I used to wait tables and I absolutely cannot order food like this:

"Umm, yes, I'm on the Atkins Diet and I'll have the 12 ounce ribeye, except I only want 11 1/2 ounces. Please make sure that you go out and cut it straight off the cow and don't cook it on the same grill that you cook your other steaks on. I'd like a dish of real butter on the side. What are your vegetables today? Ok, I'd like the vegetable medley but pick all the carrots out and make sure you go to your freezer and get me a fresh package of vegetables and sautee them in real butter with none of your seasonings on them. I'd also like a salad with no croutons and pick the carrot slivers out of it. What are your salad dressings? Umm, does your blue cheese have sugar in it? Yes, please, go ask your chef whether the blue cheese has sugar in it..............It does? Ok, what about the ranch? You'll go ask the chef??? Ok....................It does???? Ok, well just give me the honey mustard on the side. Oh, and no tomatoes because I'm on the Induction phase of the Atkins diet, did I tell you I'm on Atkins? and I can't have tomatoes. Please tell the chef that I'm on Atkins and I can't have any sugar. And please make sure when you bring the bread basket out that you put it on that side of the table because I'm on the Atkins Diet and I can't have bread. It's full of carbohydrates, you know, and I can't have carbohydrates because I'm on the Atkins Diet."

Maybe... but I used to work at Wal-Mart for four years, and I know how obnoxious people can be there. It was a humbling experience. I believe everyone should have to experience a job like that at one point or another. It helped me understand others who serve (like waitresses).

I am not familiar with Logan's but if it is like most places, you can't go too wrong with a chicken or salmon caesar salad--just don't eat the croutons. Also a steak is good, just choose one without a sauce and ask for veggies or a salad on the side. Ranch and Balsamic vinegars are out on Induction, but you can ask for an oil & vinegar dressing or Italian or blue cheese dressing. Buffalo wings without breading are fine and filling as an appetizer. So is shrimp cocktail-just skip the dip and use a squeeze of lemon. If they offer special sides, broccoli or fried mushrooms are always good and pretty standard offerings. Hoping that they serve some of these since I don't know the chain. If all else fails, just do your best.

i order a steak and ditch the rolls. you can order two sides. i usually get the shishkabob....mmmmm..... and a salad or green beans.

btw, i've NEVER had any problem asking quesitons or getting help at logans. it's one of our favorite places to eat. ENJOY!

That was funny! But seriously it really isn't quite that complicated ESPECIALLY going to Logans.. simple.. steak, salad no croutons. BTW.. you can eat the tomato..In most cases the blue cheese is a good bet, you don't have to eat the bread when it's brought to the table. It's all in the mind set. We either want to weigh less or we want the bread basket. In the morning the bread will be down the toilet and you wont have anything to show for it lol...xcept the scale may move in the wrong direction, and you may possibly feel really really cruddy the next few days.. but if you make the right choices you stay on plan, and you could possibly be lighter the next morning.

Well, thanks for the replies. I appreciate it. The reason that I'm concerned is certainly NOT because I think I'll be tempted by the bread. The thing is that I've read several posts about people thinking that steakhouses are safe and then finding out later that the steak seasonings and the vegetables are full of sugar.

I don't want to order a steak if I have to go through the whole rigamarole with the waitress, you know??

If there is something "easy" that I can order and KNOW that it's Atkins friendly, that's what I want to do...

Thanks!

I'm also reading some posts where people thought that blue cheese dressing was safe and later found that it was full of sugar!!

I've worked too hard for the past eleven days for something to sneak up on me and hit me in the head when I *think* I'm trying to be good. You know???

I'm a little late to the conversation, but I just went to Logan's the other day.

I had the ribeye steak (they season all of their steaks with a black pepper seasoning), the veggie skewer, a cesar salad with mayo as dressing (minus the crutons). The waiter even brought me some diced tomatoes for the salad - didn't have to ask.

Not sure why more people don't have mayo as a salad dressing, but it works fine for me.
