Question Starting at second stage?

Hi,
I have done at Atkins before a couple of years ago with great success but have now regained all my weight plus more and want to lose it again. I have fibromyalgia and find when I do induction my pain and fatigue increase threefold so I was wondering if anyone has tried starting atkins at the second stage and skipping induction. I know weight loss will be slower but I am hoping it will still work?? Any ideas? I have 15 kg to lose
Thanks

If you mean starting at the 2nd Phase of Atkins, "OWL" Which is Ongoing Weight Loss, you will find in the book as you read that when you start there you add ONLY 5gr of carbs in the veggie catagory and only allowed veggies. I am sure you can start there, because the unique thing about Atkins is the flexibility for all with in the boundaries of the diet.
I would say, go for it and see if this is works better with the inflammation you are feeling.
One more point, the fatigue and detox effects that we all feel during induction eventually do pass and usually within 4 or 5 days. I have personally experienced alot of headaches and terrible fatigue til my body starts burning fat for fuel and then everything gets increasingly better, bright and happier for me.

It sounds as though you would do better with a less drastic start, but I suggest you still get the extra carbs from veggies. I think you will benefit from removing all grain, nuts and most fruits to begin with. Some of those could be causing some of your inflammation and pain.

It is important to eat as much fresh, whole food as possible and eliminate processed foods and chemicals as much as you can. You'll be amazed at how much better you will feel in a couple of weeks.

Sunny!
