| Can you post a sample menu? Maybe we can spot the trouble. Also are you female (can't tell from you profile) - could it be TOM? I generally stopped losing for at least a week before TOM started. I was glad I weighed every day and wrote it on a calendar because I got to see the pattern after about 3 months. |

| Did you happen to take measurements, or do you at least have a pair of pants getting any looser?

| Thank you for the replies. Yes I am female, plus am 51yrs old - two things against me! and this is the second time around - make that 3 things!!! but I did have this trouble the first time around too. I truly think I must be metabolicly resistant! I was thinking that maybe I wasn't eating enough here is a quick sample. Breakfast - one rash bacon with either one or two eggs cup of black decaf tea with one splenda tablet. Lunch - about 150grams of some meat with a salad, mainly lettuce and a small bit of tomato (dont like many salad veg) Tea - a steak, a pieace of chicken maryland (the leg and thigh) or a pork- chop (large) etc and some broccali and cauliflower. I would alternate the type of meat I had each night-only one of these not all of them! As a snack I might have one piece of laughing cow cream cheese, which I think is less than 1 oz. Plus throughout the day I might have two decaf coffees with 2 teaspoons of cream and one splenda. I am just not hungry. I keep it very simple and plain as I hate cooking and am not very good at it. So when I see what others are having, I do think that it probably is'nt enough. I can't put it through fitday, as I only have dial up internet and I find that fitday takes so long to do. I do measure the veg, salad etc. I would'nt be in keetosis if I was having too much carbs would I? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for your help in advance |

| Oh, I fogot to mention, yes I did do some basic measurents, but found out later that the tape I used had some inches cut off!! silly me, so I am not sure what I was, am going to do them again today. But no, nothing seems to be getting looser on me. Tom is not an issue anymore for me either - luckily! |

| Can I convince you to give it more time? you say you have been in ketosis at least a week, and you lost slowly last time too. Your menu doesn't look that bad, I wish you were getting more leafy greens.. keep in mind tomato is a 'one cup' veggie, just like broccoli and cauliflower. So your total for your tomato, cauli and broccoli can't be more than one cup.. not one cup each, one cup for all. You can eat 3 cups of the salad veggies, or two cups salad veggies and one cup of the 'one cup' list. I think it is easy to think that tomatoes are 'salad veggies' but they are on the 'other' list. But your food intake is not that different from mine except that I eat more leafies. You ARE burning fat cells. If you are burning fat cells, you will lose them, and you will shrink, it can't NOT happen. It just may happen slowly.. but that is so much better than not happening at all! Question.. chicken maryland.. wikipedia says that is fried chicken (no no) with a cream gravy (no no.) Since you are in ketosis, I assume your chicken maryland is differnent?

| This is now my 14th day, i've lost 7lb so far, although i would have expected to lose a little bit more, as i'm sure i did the first time i tried the Atkin's. Ketosis started early and i'm sort of mid range purple at present. I have started to sleep better and i feel better when i wake up in the morning. And i'm beginning to feel a lot better about thing's than i have in a long while, more perky, more enthusiastic, so something must be happening. I'm going to fire up the old rowing machine tomorrow ( the kid's will be at school ) and get that going as a once daily routine, as well as a lot more walking. And hopefully, that should help to get thing's moving. |

| Thanks for that reply. Yes, I will try and up the leafy greens a bit. I only ever have maybe less than a half a small tomato if I am having it, but not that often. I do add green beans occassionally too, but will try harder. I will give it a bit longer too. The chicken maryland over here in Australia, is just what they call this piece of chicken, I think it is just the leg and thigh, or breast bit attached, not all that big. But no, its just plain chicken, no crumbs or sauce or anything. thank you tho. |
