| Okay, I am fuzzy on the cocoa. Can't answer that. I know it has a little bit of carbs... it comes from a bean.. you will have to wait for someone more knowledgeable on that one. Sugar free syrups are okay, count the sweeteners for your limit. Most extracts are okay, I have seen some with corn syrup which seems stupid, but hey, so check the label. I just moved from 228 to 227, so you and I have a 'lot' in common! Soon to be 'less' in common, right?

| Be wary the words "sugar free" - take them with a "grain of salt". Just like the term "no added sugar" is frequently displayed attractively on the label, these words do NOT necessarily mean few or no carbs. Just as 'a rose by any other name would smell as sweet', so could a food containing a ton of starch be labeled 'sugar free'. Be aware of the carbs as always, keeping within the limits - same with cocoa. It can certainly add up, so don't ever use it as if it wew a 'freebie'.
