| Congrats on staying strong thru a tempting situation!! Exercise really pays off in results. I missed my workouts last week and it really affected my progress. Hang in there!! You are doing so great!!

| I know how you feel. I keep getting lows lately where i just want to give up. The last 2 weekends i had 2 different events that i was so good at. I completely ignored the mini donuts at the fair and then i went to my families yearly corn roast and didnt even have corn or any of the other food or desserts that are forbidden. I lost 2 lbs in the last week even though it was a constant struggle. The only reason i manage to keep from cheating when i have my lows is that i have a smaller pair of pants that i can almost button (2 inches more off my waist and they will fit) and i try them on whenever i feel like giving in. Just seeing how close i am to buttoning them (couldnt get them all the way up when i started) gives me the will to go on. Find something to aim for besides numbers on the scale. I like the pants because its something physical i can see besides a bunch of numbers on the scale or measuring tape.

| So much of cultural traditions revolve around food. It's great you resisted the symbol of love that your family offered, but still participated in the event. It's hardest for me to stay strong when family is encouraging me to eat, eat...Good job, Carmen... |
