Default Water

So I normally have no problem drinking all of my water in one day, BUT sometimes at lunch/dinner time I really want something with flavor.
The problem is I don't like anything with Splenda or aspertame, etc.

Do you think I could just do lemon drops (fresh) in my water?

Per Dr. Atkins we can have 2-3 Tbsp of lemon or lime juice each day. This is stated in the Special Category Foods which is listed in The Induction Phase of the book. It also states that these foods may slow down weight loss. Experiment & see how your body reacts.

Hope this helps.

One of my faves and a real life saver is herbal tea. I like the Stash brand. Current fave is chocolate hazelnut decaf, or vanilla nut decaf. I also like blueberry and wild raspberry. For the nut ones I put in 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and then some heavy cream. I do use a small amt of stevia to sweeten. For the berry ones I just put in the cream, no vanilla and no stevia. If I am feeling like I "deserve" something decadent, I have a hot tea as described here. Does the trick for me every time. Good luck.

Is stevia the equivalent of splenda? I really dislike that stuff. It just has a wierd taste aaand it gives me the heebie jeebies....I don't think it's good for you, so I don't consume it. I only use it when I'm desperate for something sweet or when I'm making a tomato sauce instead of using sugar.

You know what, I do have caffeine free teas. Maybe I'll try that with cream. Good thinking lincoln

Most of the sweeteners, I can't be bothered with. Stevia comes from a plant and is considered by some to be a healthier choice b/c Splenda is processed using chlorine. Stevia isn't. I find its taste to be more palatable, but just one packet lasts me 3 uses, it is super sweet!

Have fun

You can actually use just the stevia leaves, which are dried, not processed at all. It is a ton sweeter though, and I think that the stuff in the packets has a really strange taste. If I remember, the liquid stevia was a lot better.
