Default once again....

Hi. I guess I will jump right in here. I started Atkins last year (approximately) and at 15 pounds from my goal weight, (yes, 15 pounds...sigh) I went through some real personal *bad stuff*, and resorted to eating. And eating. And eating. I put every pound back on, and added 31 to it. I managed this in less than a year. That is about 80 pounds in 11 months. I was so big, that my feet hurt, and my knees hurt, and I didnt know what to do, but keep eating. And I did, and at 34 I was the biggest I had ever been in my entire life. Then I got sick. So sick. After 5 weeks of being sick, I ended up in the hospital and loosing weight was imperative, numero uno, the big kahuna in my life after that. I FINALLY got the point that hey, you need to change your lifestyle in order to live, cause this isnt working for you sister. So I did. And following a diet my doctor and I worked up, I managed to loose 51 pounds (while quitting smoking..um hmmm..you go girl....). As I have been loosing the weight, I am realizing that weight loss that isnt "Atkins weight loss", it isnt the same. I was eating low(er) fat, low(er) carb, and managing pretty well, so Atkins to me, seemed the most natural progression for the results I am desiring. Fortunately I am past the whole carb craving thing, and already on a workout schedule, so although adjusting again will be tough, I would like to think it wont be as *painful* as induction would normally be. So, that is my story, how I got off the path and what led me to return. Thanks for listening.

Sam

So, it is the end of yet another week. Time flies when you are having fun. Hahahaha. I did good this week. Had 2 screw ups, but nothing severe to make me cry. LOL One day I had a cup of spinach in place of lettuce, thinking it was a salad listed vegetable, and last night I got a quarter cup of ricotta cheese, and after the 4th bite, I thought to myself, "Self, you cant have this yet". Good thing it was only 4 bites. That stuff is a sinful weakness to me. All in all things went well this week, no complaints, cravings or problems. Had a loss of 9 pounds. Only have 40 pounds left to loose, and each day that amazes me more and more. I have been on so many diets in my life, and I have never finished them. It is nice to finally feel that "I am really going to do this" feeling, as opposed to the "how fast am I loosing, I have to get this weight off NOW" feeling, which never seems to work for me and always, always turns into self sabotage and starvation automatically followed by binging. *shudder* As always, glad to be here, and hope everyone else had a fantastic week as well.

Sam

ps..thanks for the good energy Tracey!!!

So, the week is over. Another week gone by. Woosh, like the wind. LOL Anyway, lost the 9 pounds, and a total of 11 3/8 inches. Not entirely and overly impresed, but not sad either. My goal this week is only 4 pounds, so that is good. Haha. Well, off for my 9 mile Monday walk. Anyone coming?!

Thanks to everyone who posted. It is nice to know someone reads my rambles. LOL

Sam

WOW - 9 miles! Are you somewhere warm? We had our first snowfall this am - couple of inches and of course in time for Monday morning traffic! LOL

I'm jealous over those one week stats! What a great motivator!

Have a great Monday!

Argh....What a frustrating week last week was.........

I teeter tottered back and forth between loosing one pound and no pounds, and ended up staying the same. I lost 6 overall inches, but no weight. I am okay with that, as I figured I was getting close to that slow down point we get after a certain amount of weight has been lost. I figured I lost 57 pounds so far, and in under 5 months, so it was bound to slow eventually. My goal for the week was 2 pounds, which was not met, but definately was not from lack of trying. I also more than doubled my exercise, and figure I am maybe gaining some muscle. Anyway, I am okay with it, and I dont feel discouraged. Today. LOL I keep telling myself, this isnt about what it is, it is about what it was, and every day it isnt that, I am winning the good fight. Good luck this week friends.
