| Congratulations for giving up the smokes! I totally understand how you feel about giving up the coffee. I had a rough time cutting back the diet coke, the only way I was able to cut it was to take it very slow. I dont think Id have been able to go 'cold turkey' It sounds like your unofficial induction was going well, Keep up the great work! |

| Confession: I am a coffee drinker and have not given it up, I drink it black, two cups a day, and at night a drink one instant decaf with splenda. Unless it slows my weight loss significantly, I am not quitting the coffee. I lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks of induction and am happy with that. The Atkins book I have says you can have coffee.

| I gave up smokes about 10 years ago last October (I became a cookie monster). I gave up coffee for my fusion doctor orders. I started drinking tea- Jasmine-Green, I have 2-20 oz mugs most days. Tea caffene is different then coffee- it stays with you longer and doesn't make me overly jittery. Plus green tea is great for you. Every morning I drink a bottle of water while my tea is steeping. I will not give it up- even if it slows my loss. It is non negotiable for me. I say enjoy your coffee or tea unless the doctor your personal MD tells you otherwise. |
