Default Starting Tomorrow And Already Afraid Of Failing.

I'm ready to try this again and start in the morning, but I can't shake the fact that I've failed at this before. I can't fail again. I just can't. I really need to stick to this and I'm hoping being here in this forum gives me the confidence I so desperately need. I've been reading some of the threads and I know I'm not alone. It is truly encouraging to see the people who have had success with this way of life. I'll work on staying positive. Thank you all for being here.

Look at it this way, you are goiing at it again before you are really all that heavy! I let myself get to well over 200 again.

You will do fine. Remember, soon your appetite will diminish, your energy will go up, and sugar will lose its hold on you. You can do it!

Thank you for your encouragement. My ticker's all wrong, leftover from the time before when I did Atkins. I'll be correcting that shortly.

Default Re: Starting Tomorrow And Already Afraid Of Failing.

I have actually had a much easier time the second time around. I pretty much know what's legal and what's not.

I think the reason I failed the last time is that I was trying to cut my food portions way down right at first. If you will do a clean induction, you will find that after several weeks you simply just do not want as much food. Some days I am ravenously hungry, and I eat, but I eat protein. If I have a "binge" day, I find that the next day I don't want much. It all levels out on the end. I have made a commitment that bread, sugar, pasta, and white potatoes are not my friends, and that I will probably not ever be able to have them in my life. There are plenty of other foods out there that are great. I just ran across a website of a fellow Atkineer, www.sugarfreesheila.com and it was a great motivator for me.

Best wishes, you can do this!

With this kind of mind-set, you probably will fail again. You are setting yourself to fail. Whether you think you can do a thing, or you think you can not, you will be right.

You need a change of attitude towards the positive in order to become successful. Review what caused you to fail last time, then change that.

Your statement about "trying" again, but holding on to the past failure is a really wimpy way to start out on anything that you really want to succeed at doing. "There is no TRY, there is either do or do not."

When Evel Knievel was preparing to jump the Grand Canyon, do you think he was holding on to all the times in the past where he crashed and was injured or failed to make the jump? You can bet that when he was revving up his motorcycle he wasn't thinking, "Oh, no! It really hurt when I failed to make that ________ jump. I believe that will happen this time and I will be killed, because it's so far down to the bottom of this huge canyon! Even if I don't get killed, I could be paralyzed or become a vegetable!" Nope--he went in with a clear head, thinking only of a successful jump.

Fear of failure is what paralyzes a person into inaction and failure. Your thoughts are extremely powerful. Make sure you are taking advantage of the extremely powerful positive thoughts in your head.

Sunny!

Me, again. I just really noticed your screen name. You need to change your name to something positive. Your current one is a negative label you have placed on yourself.

Admin will change it for you if you send a PM.

I'm listening! Positivity! I get it.

Well, it's my first day and I'm doing ok. I wish I could speed up time. I'm impatient too. Will work on that too. So far, so good. I will keep in mind changing my name. I have to think of a new one...
