Default Day 4 For Me. Question About Keto Stix

My favorite thing to eat is steak and eggs. Hopefully, I'll never get sick of steak or eggs.

Day 2 was the hardest for me withdrawing from sugar and all. I kept myself in control and got passed it. But it was tough. Wow. I'm proud of myself so far.

I bought Keto sticks (I think that's how you spell it) and I'm showing up as almost purple. The instructions don't tell me what that means as far as Atkins is concerned. I'm hoping someone here will assist me with this and I thank you in advance.

The more purple they are the more into ketosis you are in. So strive to make them darker.

No, you don't have to "strive to make them darker"! The color shown by ketostix only indicates how many ketones are present in your urine. If you drink more water (or, conversely, if you're dehydrated) or exercise (i.e. sweat), the color shade will change. Besides, if you have a high CCLL, the color won't change once you reach around 50 net carbs, although you may be still burning fat.

Yeah thanks! I read your links. It was really informative and explains a lot. I used to get very frustrated because they werent turning purple even when I would do the meat fast and was exercising. Thanks for the post and info. I was going to go out and buy the ketone sticks (If I could figure out how to ask for them in German) but to be honest after what you posted, I think its not that necessary and might frustrate me if I can't get those sticks purple with all the water and exercising I am doing, etc...

Hahaha! I never used for exactly the same reason -- German! I had the intention to buy some when I was in the US (peeing on something sounds like a lot of fun :P), but I forgot.

What is the meat fast? Same as fat fast?

You know I can't find it in the book now but I have an older version I think. I had two newer copies but have been nicked by friends in Kenya. Maybe I made up the term but I think maybe read it somewhere on the net. But in any case I do remember that when reading the book Dr. Atkins says if you are not in ketosis and your strips are not turning purple to cut out the salad and veggies and then reintroduce it when they turn purple. Then he talks about the fat fast if you are really not losing the weight. I don't like the fat fast and when I have tried it, its too difficult to keep up for 4 days. So sometimes when I am not losing at all, I cut out the veggies for a while and see if I can see a boost. Sort of between induction and fat fast. I call it the meat fast!

Hey just noticed you are in Germany. Not too far from me, although haven't researched where your city is yet. I am only 10 mins away from freilassing and two hours away from Munich (driving time). Where are you from originally?

Great posts - but I'm still confused. I've been on induction for 3 weeks - my sticks have been pink (between small and moderate), I haven't lost a pound, and my clothes still feel the same. I'm more frustrated than ever. I'm feeling hopeless.
