| Could you post a few menus in the "Review my Menu" forum? Review My Menu - Atkins Diet Without a menu (include absolutely everything you eat and drink, and quantities), there is little advice we can give.

| Good... let's see... Quote:
Diet Coke is sweetened with aspartame. Dr. Atkins warned that aspartame can stall one's weight loss (I actually gain from it) and many people discover their weight loss restarts once they drop it. Also check the ingredients in mayo. Quote:
Your veggies are too low. During Induction you should be eating three cups of them, maximum one of which can come from the "Other Vegetables" list. Right now you are eating one cup of green beans and one cucumber, so you're missing almost two cups of salad vegetables. How much water are you drinking? The minimum is 64 oz, but you should be drinking more if you are exercising. It's pretty hard to gain 13 lbs (5.9 kg) in two weeks. You'd have to eat each day about 3250 calories above what you are burning, so for this to happen you'd need to have a 14-day long massive binge. Constipation can be a reason. Another can be water retention from exercising. Or maybe TOM. Plus all the food-related issues I mentioned above. Quote:
So the plan... - drop everything sweetened with aspartame or sugar (e.g. ketchup) - eat all your vegetables - always read the labels and look for "illegal" ingredients -- if it's not on the Induction Acceptable Food List, it shouldn't go into your mouth - drink plenty of water - take body measurements

| I just wanted to point out that you may want to look at the amount of fat eaten as opposed to the amount of protein. You might want to aim for a little more fat (no more cheese though) and a little less protein and be sure to drink water. I agree you are probably retaining water like Georgiana said. The burger king and the sausage probably has your sodium levels at all time highs (not to mention the diet coke ((also full of sodium)), ketchup, and mayonaise are also full of sodium). The water will flush out if you give your self a chance. Julie |

| Just wanted to say... Hang in there, Sara. And those were pretty spectacular responses. Hoping that you can work that plan and make it work for you. |

| hi friend! i had a HUGE problem with water weight a few months ago which caused me to get really dissapointed in myself and cause me to not want to stick with my regimine. I would make sure that not only is your diet ok, but from a medical stand point you should also make sure you take other considerations, my water weight was due to a fluctuation of imbalanced hormones. i made sure my birthcontrol was taken at the same time EXACTLY SAME TIME. I also found some herbal supplements that could help me. so i studied and one thing that could help could be your liver, which is your main body's filter and needs to be in check. having a healthy liver can help relieve tons of problems for you including water weight. i started taking milk thistle and it has helped me so much. milk thistle is a natural (mild) detox. you can get it at wal mart for like 7 bucks and you take it with your meal. after about a week of taking it my water weight was off and i noticed differences in it from day one. i had gained about 10-12 lbs easily just from water weight. not making sure your body's hormones are in check can cause you to give your self adema. thats what info i can give you good luck! |

| I wanted to add that I do not lose on Atkins if I'm drinking diet soda. I just don't, no matter how correctly I eat. I see enormous losses when I'm drinking only water with the occasional cup of hot blueberry tea w/splenda. (Once a week) I will have a cup of decaf with Splenda once a week too but the more water I drink, eating correctly, the more weight I lose. It amazes me that a diet soda halts me. I learned the hard way!
