Default New STAC-er here.

Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone.

I'm (re)starting induction today, it's been several years since the last time I successfully done Atkins.

But today is a new day, and I'm committing to a by-the-book (granted an older copy) Atkins experience.

In addition to Atkins I am also someone who tries to only eat organic food. Veggies and meat. I also can't eat soy. This is in addition to avoiding all processed food.

I have a thyroid problem, and it's the culprit to my weight gain. Most of it that is. I bet there a few pounds there because of a slip in emotional eating.

My only prescription medication is my Armour. Oh, yes and I occasionally take heartburn medication -- can I have that? If not, I can just wait and see if some weight loss changes things. I also take a full barrage of supplements.

My downfalls will be my water intake and exercise. I have no excuse for the water, I'm just bad that way, but I'm going to get better!

I'm having some knee issues right now that are making exercise an issue. Again, I'm hoping dropping some weight will help. If nothing else, it will make a doctor take my knee pain seriously, because right now they just say it's the weight. (I don't think that's the case, but I have to lose some to prove my point!)

Finally, I have adrenal fatigue, so I react poorly to strenuous exercise. But I can walk, and with support (a brace) I can do some wii fit - since it can easily be done in 5 minute bursts. I also bowl once a week when I have the energy.

I'm returning for my health. I'm determined to do the full program this time. That's where I'll need help. I've never successfully done OWL, it's usually where I lose focus and quit and I need you guys to keep me honest when I get there!

Nice to meet you all, and I hope to be a positive addition to your group.

Welcome back, great to have you here. The first time I tried this WOE I didn't exercise. I still lost 35 pounds in 6 weeks. After that, it was easy to exercise, but I was just a dumb kid (2, and didn't do it. You can probably start this without exercise and be moderately successful, but definately start when you are able. Maybe swimming would be an option, or water aerobics. Anything in the pool will be easier on your knee.

Good morning, do you have a name or something I can call you???? You'll find lots of great tips here on how to get your water intake up and your exercise in.

I think the biggest thing for water is motivation. Think how that water fills you up and makes you not want to eat. I usually have a gallon in before noon. I slow up in the afternoon because I don't like to get up to pee all night long.

Anyway, welcome.

I know, I do have a long name. LOL

I just wanted to see that everyday, to help remind me what I've committed to.

How about LC4Life for short?
