I have never had a problem with it going bad. I keep it in a thick cooler and my car is white, so the trunk doesn't get overly hot. I do only keep one can of tuna and one can of potted meat in there at a time and rotate often. Once, when we had really cold weather for several days with the temps never reaching above freezing, the potted meat was frozen.

I spend so much time on the road to and from UVA Medical Center, with super long appointments, I usually have to use something from the stash often.
