| Eat more fat. That will boost your calories. You can take something like a fried pork chop and dip it in melted butter as you eat it. That's what I do for meat that is too lean.

| Yep. Fat can be found with Mayonaise, dressings, butter, olive oil, eggs (many many items). You are suppose to limit the cheese any way. Check out the recipe threads on this site and Lindas low carb site. Once you start cooking more elaborate low carb meals you should be able increase you fat. I love Lindas site because you can plan whole meals - she has sides, & desserts as well. Good luck, Julie |

| I wish it were that simple. With getting into gross details the more fat I eat the nastier things get. While low-carb diets work great and I feel great for the most part, when I have a lot of extra fat in my diet I end up feeling horrible and getting to know public restrooms way too often. And it's not a horrible disease or something, most of the women in my family have the same problem. That's why I'm trying to eat more healthy things, things with less fat, or spread the fat around a little more evenly, etc. I have taken the butter out for use a few times and seem to do ok in slightl moderation, but a fried pork chop in melted butter would do me in! Thanks for the suggestions though! I guess I'll just keep plodding along with trying to keep good fats in and carbs low.

| Once you move on to OWL, you can start having nuts. Even small servings of nuts (ex: 1/3 cup of walnuts is 180 cals!) can help boost your calorie count. A couple tablespoons of natural peanutbutter may help also. Nuts do stall some people, especially since they're VERY easy to overeat. Good luck!

It's a mistake, however, to consider high fat foods to be unhealthy. That's exactly the mindset that Dr. Atkins was trying to address with his work and this WOE. Natural protien and natural fat is healthy food.... just like all those green and leafy things.
