| Hi Koober! I'm sorry that you are feeling left out. Believe me, it's not intentional. It's possible that you are posting in the wrong forums sometimes. Usually in Roll Call, we just say 'hello' and don't really discuss anything in particular. It's best to start a separate thread when you want to talk about specific things. Please don't feel bad because each post isn't answered because there are so many forums and posts all the time that some don't get read right away but we try. You are very welcome here and are part of our family, so please keep trying. It helps to post in the most active forums because they get read the most. Good luck on your Atkins journey! |

| John - I sometimes feel like that too. Just this last weekend I fell off plan after being cheat-free for over 100 days. I wrote about it in roll-call... and didn't get a response from anyone. Perhaps STAC members checking in here are doing just that... checking in... and they expect that if members have real issues they'll start a thread. Of course I don't venture very far from roll-call... I'm not all that interested in creating a thread dedicated to ME... I'd just rather check in, share a bit of my stuff, connect with and be accountable to STAC members around my Plan while supporting them in theirs. I like reading everyone's status... I like commenting on STACers status/successess/struggles, that's how I offer support... I don't HAVE to have people responded to my stuff all the time, but it definitely helps to have members reach out when I'm struggling. I think it would be interesting to hear what other STACers want to get from roll-call. Are they simply wanting to quicky check in? Or do they want to connect and interact? It's my opinion that roll-call could be really cool if we we just reached out to one another a little more... Anyway... my thoughts... Vickie

| Morning everyone! Have a great day. For the record, I love the STAC because no one "bothers" me over here. I have enough stress in my life without bringing more on myself from an internet message board...Just sayin. |

| Hi everyone.. I am sorry some of you feel ignored.. I am sure its not done on purpose.. I have been so busy trying to get adjusted to working that I don't do a lot of commenting... If you have something that you need help with it would be best to post a separate thread so it kind of stands out of the roll call.. I read through them quickly.. I am off the next three days but we are heading to a dance competition. Going to be busy.. Trying to figure out our food for the weekend too.. If I pack stuff the car is far and I have a hard time walking long distance and my daughters boyfriend is on crutches so its not easy for him either... Going to be a HOT HOT weekend.. 80s today and 94 and 95 tomorrow.. Have a great day! |

| Ok, so I guess roll call is just for checking in, I see often people simply just saying that, and still being kinda new did not really know how things were. Thanks for the replies. I feel better now : ) |

| Awe I dont like that story Koober & Tang! It's no fun to feel on the outside of things.. I know for me it's usually that I generally post so early in the mornings that only one or two posts are available to comment on.. I sort of buzz through the rest of the posts on my lunch hour.. but rarely added a second posting.. I'm glad you said something Koob! ![]() Hope all have a great Friday! And I'll check in later ~ Dana ~ |

| Happy Friday STAC'ers! I woke up early 5:30 am. Made breakfast for everyone and fed my dogs. I got some stress yesterday. The vet removed 3 tumors off of my dog and he thinks they are malignant. I will know more next week. I managed to stay on plan. I caved and made vegi soup yesterday afternoon (taco vegi soup). I needed comfort food. I think I made it fat enough when I add taco meat and sour cream. I should have added cheese but I had cheese at snack time. Koober I know what you mean. Group Hug- Some days STAC'ers post about their stress or challenges and other days they just stop in to say hi. I never get to start rollcall. Our time difference causes me to be hours behind everyone else.Vicki congrats about the 100 days. Sorry I missed it. Now get it together and do it again Sandy my work schedule some times causes me to have problems eating. I know that you have been having a hard time getting your fat and calories in. Might I suggest quiche, quiche and more quiche.... I make them when I am busy and I can pack a lunch and eat it cold. I would try to sneak food in at the competition. Better safe than sorry. Everyone else- please have a wonderful day. Julie I weighed in today. I seem to be under 200. But I want to wait for Sunday to claim it. |

| John, not trying to be an uber-witch here, so I apologize if it comes off that way...but I'm not clear what your complaining about. I remember your posts as mostly about the arcade and how easy your job is...what did we miss that we should have been posting back to you about? I saw that you slipped up Sunday night with some Chinese food...but you knew what you did when you did it, and you said you were getting back on track. I guess I'm confused. Personally, I do use the roll call to discuss particular things that are going on for me as well. Sometimes I get replies, which I love and appreciate so much...and sometimes I don't. Most of the time I post when it's convenient for me...and being on the west coast, I think I miss all the action. I basically use this roll call as both my journal and to share my journey with other like-minded people. To keep everything in one place I've started a blog where I post similar or exactly the same entries. Maybe no one will ever follow it...but I love doing it and hope someone finds something interesting or inspirational or funny or whatever... Basically, I like to blather on like an idiot. Alaska...I'm so sorry about your dog. I know this must be a difficult time. I don't have kids, so my dog is my world. Nobody is ever as happy to see you when you come back from the mailbox as your dog. I hope everything comes out ok. On another note...can I ask for your veggie soup recipe? The taco version sounds wonderful! Sandy, I'd totally sneak some food into the competition. If you get caught, tell them your diabetic and have food restrictions...they can't argue with a medical reason. On the same note, don't try to sneak in an entire roasted chicken...stick to something portable that fits in your purse. I do it at the movies all the time So...today is my weigh in day, and I am down to 273.4! I was hoping the low would stick around to be official today, and it did! I am just thrilled! I think I'm discovering I'm one of those wait and whoosh type people that have been talked about. It seems 2 weeks out of the month I probably should just not weigh myself and save the mental games. It wasn't like this the first time around....but I didn't have a spinal cord injury hindering my exercise program like I do now. I was also 12 years younger. Hmph. Aging. Whose bright idea was that? I feel fantastic...I feel sexy...I feel smaller...I feel like going out dancing and walking on the waterfront. The funny thing is I've only lost 18 pounds...and on my big body, it's barely noticeable to others, but I notice it. Just think how much more I'll think of myself in another 20 pounds...I'll be totally stuck up! hahahahaha I had one of those annoying arguments with a friend last night about how "a diet so restrictive can't possibly be healthy"...restrictive? Because I can't have nachos and a pint of Ben and Jerry's every night? UGH! I said "I have eggs or celery and cream cheese for breakfast, chicken Caesar salad for lunch and Chicken and broccoli with cream sauce for dinner. I eat more vegetables when on Atkins than when off....how is that unhealthy. I've essentially only cut out pasta, bread and sugar...how is that unhealthy? And by the way, I’ve lost 20lbs...wanna compare lipid profiles?" I hate this argument. *eye roll*

Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again. |
