Hello everyone, I fell off the wagon about two months ago & I am having a rough time getting back on. I know there is no magic bean but if you all could give me a few words of advice, I would really appreciate it!!

Smile Re: Please help me with motivation!

Hello there,

I have just got back on the atkins band wagon after almost a year of being off plan. The things that make me determind and keep me focused are a wardrobe full of clothes that are a size too small and a wedding i have to attend the end of next month that i want to be a size smaller for.

This board helps loads, just looking at the before and after posts and reading about all the success stories makes me want to give it a shot. So many people have had such brilliant results with this way of eating, if they can get these results following the atkins plan, then so can I!

It helps to clear the house of all those bad carbs, but this could be tricky if you have a family to feed. I have 4 kids, so for the first week, i just had a few basics in for them like bread, Potatoes, Pasta, Rice and Cous cous, there was no cakes, biscuits/cookies, sweets crisps of chocolates, or any of that sweet junk i like to eat. Once i was in ketosis and all my cravings had gone i let them have the odd treat in the cupboards.

I also have to plan what im eating for the week ahead, and make sure i have atkins food available at all times! Just concentrate on getting the 2 week induction out the way and take it from there, a big drop in weight should spur you on to acheive more.

good luck

This is some info put together especially for the STAC folks: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...formation.html (Second Time Around Club ~ information)

So did you manage to "take off" with Atkins? How are things going?

Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"

Just jump in with both feet. Read the book to refresh your memory, fill your home with induction foods, drink enough pure water. Here is
little information I hope will refresh your memory and help get you going again. Stay away from the shakes and bars (they are NOT legal on induction) - eat a variety of foods, get your fats, carbs and protein in daily, drink plenty of pure water (nothing added), take your supplements and exercise. Check the STAC for additional support Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. We also have challenges for members to join, some are exercise related and some aren’t. Also start a journal and post your thoughts along the way.

Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page – it’s an easy way to answer questions you may have. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.
