Default A little spice! MMMMmmmm

I am noting that more than likely this should be in the recipes section but I wanted to share here too.

So, I am having hotwings tonight for dinner. I figured, hey, I am craving greasy foods right now and there is no way these can be too difficult. I found a recipe on another low-carb page that I thought sounded interesting and luckily for me, I had all the ingredients here in the house. In this recipe you are suppose to start by boiling your wings in 32 oz chicken broth, 1 T cayenne pepper, 1 T red pepper flakes, 1 T salt.

Now, frankly, I don't know whether "T" stands for teaspoon or tablespoon, being that I always refer to them as tsp or tblsp. So, I improvised: I started with my 32 oz broth and stirred in about 3/4 tbsp of each salt, cayenne, and red pepper flakes. I added the chicken and sent it to a boil.

The point to this post isn't even to explain how I am making the hotwings but rather to rave that once I removed the wings from the boiling concoction and set them aside I decided to add some sliced mushrooms, a diced tomato, a very small onion, 3 cut up celery stalks and some garlic powder. I allowed that to boil another several minutes and now I am sipping away at some superly delicious soup! It is spicy, to the point that I can feel the heat all over my face. And it is an ideal way to work some extra veggies in that I am lacking on today already anyway!

So, I was able to expand these preparations into two totally different meals: Soup (which I haven't even considered having since I began induction) and my hotwings! YAY!

Oh, for any of you interested further in the wings: Once removed from the broth I placed them on a pan and into the oven on 450 degrees for roughly 20 mins to allow a slight browning. Then over into a tupperware dish with 5 oz franks hot sauce, 1 stick of butter, and several dashes of garlic powder. They are "marinating" in the hot sauce until later, when I will complete cooking them in the oven to a beautiful crispy browness!

YUMMM

OH! thank you for clearing that up for me. I feel so dumb! LOL! Either way, without the full tablespoon, it was plenty spicy enough for me.
