>>cranberry sauce,>>

Easy enough.

1 bag (12 ounces) of cranberries, fresh or frozen
@ 1/4 – 1/3 cup granular Splenda
Place cranberries, Splenda, and 3 Tbs. of water in a pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally or until cranberries pop.
Remove from heat and cool.

You know ... you can have "new" traditional foods, too!

Default Re: Eating Plans for Holidays?

We visit family for both holidays and the meals will be traditional. I'm picking a few recipes to try from Linda's site and I plan to do as Barb suggested, staying on plan with almost all of my food for Thanksgiving with the exception of a spoonful of stuffing and gravy.

For Christmas I am going to do the same, making sure I take a few recipes for us, we can still have the ham and greenbeans, ect... so I am NOT planning to do a full cheat or day off. I'm just too afraid I won't be able to get back on the wagon. I've been off of it for a long time now.....over 8 years. I don't want to chance that again.

Default Re: Eating Plans for Holidays?

One holiday this year - I believe it was mothers day - I took all my own food - enough to share, but at least I was covered. My family loved what I brought and I didn't feel cheated at all.

If the food is good, who's going to complain. For Thanksgiving, I think I will send my menu to my children - all on plan. If they want to bring a dish, non-atkins - that will be their choice, plus a good experience [since I've always made the meal in the past]. I look at it as a challege and a chance to be creative!

I really have no idea... everything my mother makes is loaded with carbs. I don't have any idea what to do other than not eat! I guess I can have a bit of the turkey, that's about it.

Offer to help cook ... then make low carb things.
