  • I guess no induction for me afterall :-/

Well I went to the doctor yesterday expecting him to give me a date for induction because he'd been telling me each week for about 6 weeks now that he was planning to induce after I made 38 weeks due to my high blood pressure. Instead he was so happy with how the meds and bed rest have been working that he wants to let me go into labor on my own. I know I should be happy that things are going so well but I can't help but feel very disappointed. All this time I had been telling myself (and getting quite excited about it) that once I got to 38 weeks I'd have my little girl and wouldn't be stuck in bed anymore. Instead I get to continue to lay in bed and play the waiting game. Arrrrgh! I swear I'm gonna go nuts if she doesn't decide to come soon.

    Awwww Skyye....
It's so hard, they give you a date and you EXPECT that baby to go by it. Hopefully Catie decides to come early, cuz those late babies will really make ya nuts!! Hang in there girlie, she's almost here! Then you will be WISHING for bedrest! LOL.

Yes, but just think of the wonderful "you did this to me" stories you will be able to tell her when she has her own babies MUCH MUCH MUCH later!

Kricket thinks she will come early.

Sorry you're disappointed, but being induced is supposed to me more painful because the medication or whatever forces the body to have contractions. I was induced with both of my kids and they told me that each time. The first ended up being a c-section because I went through over 12 hrs of horrible labor only to dialate to 3 centimeters. Cruel joke that was. They asked "Do you want to stop the induction and start again tomorrow or have a c-section." Well, duh. Lol! I was exhausted and just wanted to be done with it. That's great you're doing well enough not to have it done. Awesome. I feel for you on the bed rest, one of my good friends had to do that for over 2 months.

Okay somebody check the baby pool and see if the doc has any other day picked.

Oh Skyye, I'm so sorry but every day extra you giver her to grow inside you will make her that much more developed and that much less they have to do for her when she comes. And a big woo hoo to you Missy for getting that blood pressure under control too.

SOmebody better go warn all the 6WEC folk to workout cause Skyye is in a foul mood and big slugs will be raining on them

Hi, I was induced with my daughter and had problems as well. I went through 12 hours of very hard labor from the drugs and I only ended up dialating 1.5 Centimeters and then ended up with a C-section. Seems like that is a common theme. I have read a lot about the patossin(sp) and read that it can bring on very painful but useless contractions. I was overdue with my daughter after having preterm labor stopped at 35 weeks so I really do understand your frustration. Just remember, new babies are a lot or work even though you will love her to death. You should try to just enjoy this time you are forced to relax. You might just look back during a sleeless night and think "gee it would be nice to be on bedrest if just for a day again"-haha.

                  Sorry about disappearing. LoL

Seems the doc spoke too soon about my blood pressure doing so well. Over the weekend it started rising despite me being on the bp meds and I ended up stuck in bed not allowed up at all except to go to the bathroom. I went to the doc on tuesday morning and got sent right over to the hospital.

And to make a long story short....

Little Miss Catherine Lillian was born at 8:42pm on Jan 10th.
She weighed 6lbs 11oz and was 19 inches long.

We got to come home yesterday afternoon. I'm a little sore (darn episiotomy ) and bit tired but we're doing ok so far.

Hubby's got some pics of Catie somewhere and as soon as I figure out where and have another moment I'll post em for yall.
