I think I have seen the light.

I think my main problem is seeing the differance between "low fat" and "low calorie".
I have been so concerned with making sure I am not "low calorie" so I upped my carbs. I guess I need to get out of that mind set and concentrate on NOT being low fat......there's a huge differance!

Who cares if I eat 1000 or 2000. I need to make sure that what I am eating includes good fats, and low carb. The calorie will be what the calories will be!!

    Sound about right??

Not 2big here, but that sounds spot on to me!!

It takes some time to get our heads around lowcarb reasoning after a lifetime of low caloring, doesnt it,

One reason I am glad jimmie 45 started the DANDR reading challenge is that it will help us all understand the theory behind the Atkins WOE better.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Sorry have been watching your other topic and didn't see this one

yep feed your hunger with 65% of those cals from fats and you will be a shrinking too.

When we metaboliz fats as our primary fuel switching from the USDA high carb eatting at say those 1000 cals you wwere working on to the Atkins way of eating more of the food intake is used to convert the food to fuel then on the USDA way so those 1000 USDA would be the same as 1250 Atkins eating cals in terms of usage. that is the metabolic advantage Dr Atkins discusses in DANDR.

I kept thinking about it and then TADA!

I ran for my book, flipped thought it and confirmed my thoughts...I was looking at this whole process WAY wrong!

I have always been caught up in calorie counting ( calories in vs. calories out)for so long now, I forgot how/why atkins works.

So.....with that being said, I AM EXCITED!

Plus, I finally saw pink on my Ketone sticks. Those things sure are good mental - they keep ya goin'!

        Thanks again 2big and Elizellen
