How many eggs are ok to eat? I mean really. How many do you guys eat?
My dh gives me the look and makes comments about eating eggs and cheese and all the cholesterol.

I kind of eat them covertly now.
The poor guy is worried about my health and of course I have dieted over and over during our marriage with poor results.

    Here is my take ~
I am only 5'7" and at about 220 That would be the equivalent of a man 6ft tall pushing 300#. If my dh weighed that much and I saw him suddenly eating eggs and bacon every morning I would worry about him too.

Dh is slim and I can't really get into an Atkins discussion because I know at this point he would be overly concerned. I remember when Dr A died and there was so much negative publicity about his own weight etc. My dh looked at me and said "I hope you aren't on that diet. "

    Re: Eggs and worried spouse

Personally, I eat 2 eggs a day, every day, for breakfast. Sometimes another egg jumps in for a dinner recipe. I know I've seen others posting their egg intake and I'm sure some of them will be around soon to post.

Maybe one thing to tell your DH is that the egg is one of the world's most perfect foods! Amino acids, protein, essential fat. All major yumminess! Really, unless you're eating a dozen or more a day, I'm sure you're just fine. But, that begs the question, did you get your cholesterol checks before you started this way of eating? If so, if a few months have passed, you can be retested and prove your point that this WOE is good for your cholesterol!! I'm getting mine retested at the end of the month and will definitely be sharing my results!

Good lock and keep up the good work!

I eat maybe 1 or 2 daily, because that's the amount of eggs I eat to satisfy my hunger.

I was ok when my cholesterol was checked last time. I am on induction now and Have been eating 1 omega 3 egg with some extra egg white and 1 oz cheese scrambled together. I really want a perfect induction and I think I need to eat eggs almost daily to get me through this.

I usually eat 3 for breakfast every day. I had 2 for lunch today too. My cholesterol was great when I had it checked this spring. I have eaten this way for over a year.

                  Re: Eggs and worried spouse

I eat anywhere from 2-5 eggs a day... Of course there are days I don't have any at all but that's not very often. They're so easy and like Stazia said - they're the perfect food.... I also like them because they are very filling for me so one or two fills me up and it's only a few hundered calories (I know I'm not supposed to watch my calories!..but I do ).
If you feel like an egg or two have an egg or two. If not, then skip them. It's really no big deal... don't worry ~ just eat, drink (water), and be happy!
                  Good luck!

                      Re: Eggs and worried spouse

I have had days where I had a 3-egg omelet for breakfast, made 3 eggs worth of egg salad for lunch, and had a dinner of a vegetable, meat, cheese quiche, of which I probably consumed a 2-egg serving... So that's 8 eggs a day. That's certainly not a "normal" day, but I never really have "normal" days... Some days I eat none at all. Some days only 1, 2, or 3. I've been on this diet and exercise plan for 4 months (I work out religiously) and my blood pressure, cholesterol, and pulse have all markedly improved. My doctor thinks I'm doing a fantastic job.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.
