Derek, careful to watch that you don't fall into the habit of 'eating first, asking about it later' mindset. Make sure you know if something is legal before you put it in your mouth or you could be sabotaging yourself.

If that's all that is in there, blood, meat and fat, then it's all legal, but if there are any fillers such as bread crumbs, starches or sugar then no, it's not ok.

      Re: black pudding

When I think of black pudding I think of an old "goodies" episode, 'icky-thump,' where black pudding was used as a weapon in a quazi-martial art. Nothing to do with your question, but I got a chuckle thinking about it.

Black pudding is not common in the usa. There are blood sausages, but how close they are I do not know.

Sorry to report, Derek, but Black pudding is a definite "no no". They are packed full of carbs. From memory, about 30% (ish). Sorry.

Oat meal is quite a main ingredient in it.

This seems like a good place and time to ask about UK sausages, are any of them legal? I keep checking the wrappers and all seem to have unacceptable amounts of carbs. Also I would like breakfast meat suggestions to avoid bacon for all the sodium. Thanks

              Re: black pudding

I buy Bratwurst from Lidl (large or small ones).
Continental sausages on the whole have little or no fillers and are usually 95% and upwards of meat unlike the traditional bangers which can have less than 50% meat in them!!
You can have any meats you like at breakfast time. Many people cook extra stuff in the evenings to have yummy 'leftovers' at breakfast time.
I often have ham/cheese rollups or flax bread/ham 'open' sandwiches if I dont want to cook.
Mini quiches are good too - I use pau's recipe and am making several batches to take away when we go caravanning next week

Personally I wouldnt recomend any type of sausage on Induction due to the fillers. But for later stages look at the top end of the market. Sainsburys and Tesco sell some decent quality ones which are £1.99 for six (so quite pricey) but lower in carbs.

                I hope this helps.

                  Re: black pudding

ive had tons of sausages over the last month and lost two stone
i never even read what was in them to be honest

i have alot of tuna though as well ,

i havent bothered with any low carb sauces or bread etc, to me, if your not allowed bread, you just dont bother with it,

ive bought almost eveything from netto (shame) for my diet,
as an instance, in the co=op one red pepper is 0.78p in netto there were three for 0.49p on friday.
                  the cheeses are superb

a typical day is two eggs tuna or acouple of red peppers for dinner with a multiviatamin, and sauage or fish or ham/tuekey for my tea with some broccoli
the whole atkins thing is superb, i have noticed though there are alot of people who dont offer you any encouragement at all, and dont say that youve lost weight when its so obvious that you have, the compliments come form other places

                  thanks

Congrats on your losses so far, Derek Two stone in a month is fantastic!

Ya got lucky. Real lucky. Just imagine how much more you could have lost had you been reading the ingredients of what you're eating like a good Atkineer should! You've lost as much weight as you have because you've vastly improved your eating habits from what they were and the Whoosh Fairy has been kind to you as a result. There will come a time when skipping this all important step will bite you in the behind. Take it from a board full of successful Atkineers - it will come. This is not a case where it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Honestly, you could eat quite a bit more than what you've listed and still lose consistantly- choosing the right foods.

I'm glad you've started posting here. You'll find tons of advice from people who've been there/done that or are there now, as well as support and encouragement!

Again, congrats on your success so far!

                        Re: black pudding

Thank you Elizellen and Richt. I love those Tesco Finest sausages and have not had them since starting Atkins, its nice to know they are back on the menu when I get past e/induction. In the meantine I will look for bratwurst and continental sausages. Thank you for the other suggestions, I realise I am feeling a bit bored and limited by my choices and its time to pay more attention. Always my first inclination is to pay less attention.
Derek, way to go with the weight loss man. I don't know what netto is, not sure its close enough for my grocery shopping.
