Hi. These boards are a real help! I am going out for chinese food tomorrow. I am on Extended Indution, and want to know if Mongolian Beef would be ok to eat? If so, what about the very very thin rice noodles that come with it? Thank u for your help!

Re: Mongolian Beef Question
NO RICE NOODLES!!!
I don't know about the Mongolian beef? does it have some sorta sauce.. if so find out the ingredients..if they aren't from the list of induction foods then you shouldn't eat it!
At the chinese restaurant I go to I get the chicken with veggies... and you can get it with no sauce and just don't eat the rice or noodles they serve
Ask them to not indlude the sauce if it isn't induction friendly.. YOU are the one paying for it afterall!!!

Re: Mongolian Beef Question
No rice noodles---doesn't matter how thin they are. Rice is not allowed on the Induction phase. Just remember when you choose to extend your Induction phase past the minimum 14 days, you are choosing to abide by the Induction rules. So no rice noodles.
Be careful with any sauces and broths that this beef comes with. Many sauces have either starch thickeners or contain sugar. Ditto for the broths.~Megs~

Re: Mongolian Beef Question
If you can AVOID Chinese food, then do it!!!
Even the "bad" tasting chinese food is full of hidden carbs - unless you can make it yourself, there's absolutely NO WAY that any dish does not contain a little bit of sugar or even cornstarch.
SORRY but that's the blatant truth of chinese cuisine
And here's the long-winded version of what has been said about Chinese food
A forum for those who are metabolically challenged or have a substantial amount of weight to lose and find the need to continue on the induction phase a bit longer. Please be advised that Extended Induction is NOT a phase of the Atkins diet.
Despite the many suggestions you will see, even Mongolian lamb WILL have some sugars and cornstarch, even if you tell them not to put it in - they will consider a "sprinkling" of it as "no carbs"30yo F 5'5 (166cm)
