Calling all experienced board members who would be willing to pay-it-forward ADBB-style by acting as a mentor for a new inductee or member who is having problems adjusting to the Atkins WOE.
Depending on how many members are looking for mentors and the number of volunteer mentors who respond, it would involve you in giving individual advice to one or more members by pm’s or in a ‘mentor/mentee thread in the penpals/buddies/mentors forum here.
Last year this was tried (thanks for your sterling efforts, Chynna if you are reading this) and seemed to fulfil a need and so I am happy to organise it now.
So, if you feel you can commit some time to keep in touch with a newbie or struggling Atkineer please send me a pm so I can compile a list of volunteers to mentor any ADBB members who feel they would benefit from a more personal input than the general board threads can offer.
I will try to match timezones as much as is feasible so you are likely to be awake at similar times of day, so please also let me know where you are geographically located too.
I was involved with several new Atkineers as a Mentor and found it a rewarding aond enjoyable experience as I learned much myself about the WOE from being asked to explain the rules and advise others on ‘tweaking’ menus and other aspects of Atkins.
Here is an extract of the ‘rules’ we followed last time, so you can see what you would be letting yourselves in for.

Mentors are here to provide support and to help point you in the right direction. It is not expected of us to teach you everything you need to know about the Atkins WOL. It is our duty to encourage and support you throughout your weight-loss journey. It is your duty to make sure you've done your homework, research and planning. Our duty, as a whole, is to create a powerful support group and to learn from one another.
It is important that you take a few things into consideration before PMing your Mentor with any questions. Try using one of many resources posted as Sticky's and Announcements on this board that will help answer many of your questions. If you have other questions pertaining to your new WOL, use the "Search" button at the top of the page to help you. You should also post your questions on the Main Atkins forum and Induction forum, as well as the Review My Menu forum.
Make sure to PM your Mentor with progress reports from time to time. Include everything from weight lost to cheats. It's important for you to be honest to yourself, as well as to your Mentor. We can only help when we know the facts.
It will also be helpful to you to stay in touch with your group members. Communication between a group as a whole will help to create a stronger, closer support group and will be useful in helping to encourage one another. If you notice that one of the members hasn't posted in a few days, PM them. Let them know that they are missed and continue showing your support in the best way you can.
