Sally, I am surprised. I have seen it pop up now and then and figure it is one of those posts that needs to be bumped from obscurity from time to time. it gets longer each time it is posted too.

This list is so important to diabetics who are blindly sniffing that rose by another name.

Stevia is considered sugar? I haven't used it, but I thought I saw a doctor on tv talking about how it's a plant extract and better for you than sugar. I'm going to look it up.

Thanks for posting this. It's amazing how many ways sugar shows up that I have not even heard of. Actually, I'm new at this and have read more ingredient labels this week than I've ever done before lol. When I did all the other diets I have been on, the ingredients were never really an issue, I always only needed to look at the calories and fat and the rest was overlooked. Now that I'm actually reading the ingredients I've been amazed at how much I've eaten that I couldn't pronounce or identify if you gave me a dictionary and a chemist to help.

It is lower in carbs as sugar, but even Artificial Sweeteners can affect blood sugar, although the jury is still out on Stevia. They must still be counted.
