    Default The War on Sugar

Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
    he said, 'Don't count calories.'

Well I am not feeling that sorry for sugar.

But sugar is not the only issue - the over use of refined products and processed foods is part of the problem.

I think that wheat has quite a lot to answer for, too, it's not all about sugar.

This is what I think too. It's a perfect storm of sugar from carbs (saccharides), sugar from fruit juice (fructose), sugar in proccessed foods (glucose etc) along with the Gliadin & Gluten in modern forms of wheat causing all sorts of inflamation problems in the body. Both 'Wheat Belly' and 'Grain Brain' paint horror stories about wheat.

I agree, Delta Whiskey. I just read Wheat Belly and I have Grain Brain on hold at my library. Very enlightening.
