That's it, Ditto. The 1978 with the wavy golden pattern of plants on the front. But you can find it on Amazon for less, about $15 which would be maybe 10 pounds. I have Amazon Prime, which means free shipping. I need to find out whether there's a way that I could order through Amazon Prime but based in England. If so, maybe there's a way I could have it shipped to you out of England directly to you without postage. Do you all have Amazon? That's the first question. I think I'll bug the Amazon people by phone today once I'm back at the farm.

I don't often use Amazon since I bought those pans for Mum and they lasted only a few weeks before all the black stuff came off inside and we had to throw them away! A book should be okay though. I will go see...ten pounds is much less expensive. Thanks OV, you're always so helpful.

Whoa! I've already checked Britain Amazon and the prices are inflated for this book.

But I'll get the American version that was a good price and mail it to you for your Christmas present. It might not be there till after Christmas, but, hey, we're just reading a page a day!

I'll get on it today, so don't waste your money.

    Merry Furture Christmas!

You're welcome! I just love have a reading buddy for the author I most admire!! Despite his doom and gloom!! The English language just doesn't get any better for me than it does with T. H.

That's excellent value for money and so convenient but I'm looking forward to owning a proper book and with line drawings.

    Hi, Jill

The problem wasn't the novel itself. We just wanted to have the same edition, and because I have one with illustrations, we decided to look into getting this particular edition in hard copy. I found a great deal on Amazon, which I'll send on to Jan for Christmas.

However, thanks for the info about the e-book. I'm curious enough to check it out for 99 cents!
