    Default Jack Snacks

Shredded Monterrey jack cheese and sliced jalapenos together...as one!

    INGREDIENTS:
1 cup shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
1 medium jalapeno, sliced real thin (WEAR GLOVES!)
DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a metal cookie sheet. DO NOT use a silicone/silpat sheet, waxed paper or foil (unless it’s the special non-stick foil) to bake these or they will not cook properly. Using a tablespoon, scoop up 1 T. of cheese and make a small pile on the parchment. Press it slightly flat. Repeat 15 more times. Place a slice of jalapeno on top of each pile. Pop into 350 oven for about 10-12 minutes. Brown a little longer if you'd like. Allow them to completely cool and fully firm up before removing from the pan for best results.
NUTRITIONAL INFO: Makes 16, each contains:
    25.5 calories
    2.13 g fat
    0.10 g carbs, 0.02 g fiber, 0.08 g NET CARBS
    1.63 g protein
    60 mg sodium

    Edited to add...
If you want semi bland "snacks", just follow the directions (and by bland we mean you'll get the heat but that's about it). If you want some taste, add some salt/pepper/garlic powder...like a light shake of each into a bowl/bag and place the shredded cheese in it, mix it and then put the cheese on the cookie sheet.

Please let me know what you think....and how it goes. I saw the recipe and it looked easy enough to attempt, even for us non-cooking people.

    I'm trying it today.

I'm pretty sure I found a new favorite snack/addition to soups.

I added a picture to my original post so you can see what they really look like.

Oldest daughter and I have come the agreement: if you want semi bland "snacks", just follow the directions (and by bland we mean you'll get the heat but that's about it). If you want some taste, add some salt/pepper/garlic powder...like a light shake of each into a bowl/bag and place the shredded cheese in it, mix it and then put the cheese on the cookie sheet.

And, of course, 1 slice of jalepeno was not going to work for us either....we needed more.
