    Default Feeling awful...

    3rd day on Atkins and I feel horrible. Tired, foggy, weak in the knees, a tad bit nauseous (sp) .... a little bit of paranoia. Just feel yucky all around. I've used Atkins on and off all my life and never had the Atkins flu like this before. Is this normal? P.S. I did have some chicken broth a couple hours ago with a bit of sea salt and then some keto soup for supper.

    It seems to hit me differently each time. And it lasts different duration each time. I will say this-- the last two times when I went hardcore and eliminated all processed food and really stuck to it---were probably the most severe reactions I ever had. My body was totally fighting the shift. Hang in there and do keep up the water intake. The board has been pretty empty so turnaround is slow compared to the old days, but folks do check in. I will try to be better since I know you are here. Jill

    you may get 2-3 really rough days but once it is gone, it is gone

    Yup.. you're right. I'm having a bad day today. Legs seem to feel so weak like they are going to give out on me. I'm drinking an Atkins shake now to try to get more potassium. Just had some keto soup too, but maybe chicken broth with some sea salt added is in order. I've never gone through this like this before. Wonder why it's worse this time around. I rode my stationary bike for about 2 miles... then did my stair stepper... legs burn like crazy and feel so weak.

    You could probably wait to exercise till you get into ketosis. Body is wanting some energy and you are switching from sugar burning to fat burning. I always need some magnesium. A better source for potassium is a lite salt from the grocery store. I sprinkle tiny amounts on my food every day. Drink lots of wter and hope ketosis hist tomorrow. Don't forget to eat fat
