The split workout after my weekout was pretty standard. I handled the weight s OK and was close to failure but finished them all. (My schedule is Day 1 full upper, Day 2 Lower and core, Day 3 Chest& Back + SHoulders, Day 4 Arms (and shoulders if I didnt do them Day 3), Day 5 lower and core, Day 6 OFF So the full upper had been tough, like really tough after a week off. I dropped the weights for DB chest press to 25 pounds each for the split and was fine. So today is my Day 1 workout - full upper body. I raised the DB chest press back to 30 pounds and was solid, good form until the last few of each set when I really had to push to finish 15. The last set I failed at the 15th and just could not get the weight up so PERFECT! I also raised the DB flyes to 20 pounds which is a huge step because these are always tough, but again I pushed through and failed at 12 on the last set. Did extra shoulder and tricep work and upped the weight on Straight press, Arnold and Hammer grip presses to 12.5 and dropped to 12 on some of those but thats OK. Had to stop at 12 on bicep curls because my left arm was in pain--must have strained something where the muscle/tendon attaches to elbow. WIll see what happens. ALso did 12 angle pushups and only 5 dips but I had worked the tris hard so I am not fretting over that. I think the workout was so strong because I did nothing yesterday and gave my body a real rest. I am going to test this again. Love seeing the progres. Only problem is I am getting to that point with the Bowflex where the weights go up by 5 pounds at a time and I really like the 2.5 pound increments better. Have to really be ready to go up 5#

I am such a slacker compared to you. Tomorrow is weight day (since it is raining) so I will come here and read your workout and get some inspiration/ Let you know how I do

Liv, I never dread the walking, ever. But there are a LOT of days when I put this off until I can't any longer and I just don't want to do it. Other days I am fine. But I keep telling myself You have NEVER been sorry you lifted and got the job done but there have been plenty of times you felt like a slug for not doing it. so get your butt up there and lift. If I am really really not feeling it, I may do a somewhat abbreviated session but now skipping is not an option. I do chest/back/shoulders Day One. Arms - Day 2. Core and Lower body - Day 3. Then repeat, then a rest day. On rest day I rest completely. If I am worn out, I may add a rest day after completing the first sequence once. It seems to be working. But it is Never fun. I do see the results though and that helps.
