  • The Goalie's Challenge Exercise Thread

I'm starting the thread we were discussing in our Maintenacne support thread. Sorry it's a bit late, since today is still a holiday for me i'm still in slacker/vacation mode.

This thread is to motivate and challenge those of us who've reached goal , or are a few lbs within and consider ourselves 'goalies', and to also to keep us accountable.

My commitment to myself this New Years was exercise 3 - 5 times a week. It will most likely be free weights, pilates and walking (i do run as well but it's too cold right now). I may also try to do my Xbox exercise game again -- LOL it's been so long i can't remember the name .

Welcome to all those goalies who'd like to join us!

My goal for 2006 is to run 1500 miles, and to finish my first full marathon next month. I also will be running the WDW Half Marathon this Saturday, 1/7/2006.

      Welcome to the thread/challenge Betty.

I really should start up my running again as well. Maybe I'll work on that too. The weather here is not very cooperative. . Excuses Excuses

Good luck on the marathon! I have a friends who's run Boston and New york twice, and toronto a few times. I'm hoping she'll pressure me to do some local 5ks with here when the weather starts to get better.

oh boy a goalies exercise challenge. I'm doing treadmilling and free exercise sitting on my balance ball and playing with my dumbbells.
So is this a daily reporting topic or what?

Sure do you think daily would be good? This is my first exercise challenge! Daily will probably keep us from forgetting..It's up to you guys?

Oh..and I do the sitting on the blanace ball too. I sit on it all day while working (i work from home). I hear it works alot of muscles..and it makes me sit up straight!

Re: The Goalie's Challenge Exercise Thread

today, three 30 mins fast walks with the dog

30 balance ball crunches (man are they hard!)

                    30 mins pilates.

I've decided i'm going to go back to the gym. we have a pay as you go gym here that's pretty cheap, so i'll do 3 months at a time (you can do daily weekly etc). But i wont be joining until the week after next, I have to go offsite to an office for the entire week next week so it'll jsut be a waste.

I really need to start running again..I think exercise is the key for me to lose these last few lbs (and yes..keep them off)

Is it too late to join the challenge? I've never done one before...

I want to do at least 30 mins fast dog walking and 30 mins full body workout... (though often I do a bit more). What happens if we skip for a day? Do we get hung drawn and quartered?

Thanks alot Sadie! Glad to be part of the challenge!

Ok... got my 30 min walk in and the 30 mins exercise too... Unfortunately, my alarm didn't go off this morning for some peculiar reason... so it was all rather a rushed affair! Not quite the start I'd hoped for Anyway... tomorrow is another day!

Sat: Good workout (40 mins)... also walked dogs in heavy frost (at seven in the morning!). Boy was it frigid!

Sun: Just finished my walk and workout. Did workout in front of the TV... how to make St. Honorè cake... just watching that probably undid all the exercise... I could almost feel the calories go on by osmosis! *Chuckles*
