  • For your viewing pleasure! My experiment

My weight is pretty much always 145 lately. Fine by me, I've got two and a half months until I want to get to my goal of 140. I'm easing from OWL to Pre-Maintence anyways.

So, since I figured I had all this time, I thought I'd play around!

Today, I shall eat nothing but frankenfoods!

I will eat at the same level that I always eat my healthy whole foods- 1200 calories, 60 from fat, 30 from protein- or shall I? *evil laugh*

Let's see what a day full of sugar alcohols will do to me. Will I wake up 10 pounds heavier? Will I inflate like a balloon? And will I still be in Ketosis?!

So let the horror begin! (just to clarify, this is a one day only thing, and just to satisfy my curiosity and maybe give some proof to the newbies how bad frankenfoods are)

Breakfast: 1 Atkins Mocha Bar, 1 Hershy's low carb bar
    alleged carbs: 4
How I felt: VERY full. It's only 350 calories, which is what I normally do for breakfast! I burped twice and barely wanted to touch my water (and I usually love drinking it, at least 75 ounces a day). Also, I thought the whole thing was a bit sweet.

    Lunch: 1 Atkins Chocolate Decadence
    Alleged carbs: 2
How I felt: Back when I was taking Metformin, it used to give me a little bump where my tummy was. I've got it back, and a hour later a worried boyfriend actually asked me if I taken one today. When I was eating it I thought mainly that it was too sweet. I'm still burping, and I have a icky little suspicion that a bathroom trip's not to far off. It's getting hard to remeber to drink my water.

Second lunch: 1 Atkins Chocolate Decadence
    Alleged carbs:2
How I felt: The little belly went down, thank goodness! Around this time my stomach seemed to settle down to. After all the posts I was starting to wonder if something dramatic was going to happen, but I drank some more water.

    Dinner: 1 Atkins Chocolate Decadence
    Alleged carbs:2
How I felt: Sometime after second lunch I stopped being full, just satiated. It's safe to say I'm sick of chocolate though. Me and my friend jogged down to get some eggs for tommorow's breakfast and I was back to feeling like myself.

Water Intake for the Day: 68 ounces

The Morning After (will be filled in March 3rd)
Was I in Ketosis: Yes, one shade lighter than I normally am
    Weight: 145
How I felt: Since it's friday the gym opens later. So I did wake up an hour late. I'm not feeling sluggy anymore though, and think my stomach finally totally adjusted. Now for eggs!

Re: For your viewing pleasure! My experiment

I have two reasons. One point is that we're all told that sugar alcohols and frakenfoods are bad, cause stalls, and so forth. And I'm not going to disprove it, I want to provide an example for everyone, just give them a personal story.

When I was first starting this diet, I always read the personal stories about everything! That way I knew what I could expect.

I'm proud of myself for doing such a clean Atkins for a long time. Finally I'm able to fit into a size medium.

But mainly this is because I'm curious to see what happens.

(I picked up some green tea diet pills the other day, if I gain three billion pounds I might start using them for next week's weigh-in They have trace amounts of caffine however.)

So you're 5 pounds from goal weight. You've done Atkins "cleanly" for all this time. Now you want to experiment and potentially sabatoge your weight loss efforts by eating junkfood all day.

Just speaking for myself, if I were 5 pounds from my goal, I wouldn't want to risk falling off the wagon considering all the time and effort I put into losing this weight. But to each his own.

                      Good luck to you.

I'd be amazed it I did feel good. I can feel myself slowing down, definatly not the super energetic person I usually am. I've kept up my excercise though. Half an hour on the eliptical, my daily half mile run, and walked eight blocks today. I'm also convinced those bars must weigh the same as a brick -.-

And guys, it's all in fun!
