I thought I was going to have a pretty bad day today. First I wake up five pounds heavier than yesterday morning. Well, an hour later it's only three, but still....148
Then I go to the doctor's. I'd made him into a bad guy ever since he prescribed me Metformin (for all that don't know I'm pretty sensitive to it). Scale says: 148
Then he says: Well, you've done extremly well, especially with the slow thyroid. The records say that when we started in last June you were 240. Not many people with PCOS really lose the weight, they just rely on the drugs. Happy the weight loss is all over with?
I ask him what he means, and this is what made my day! Apparently I'm Godzilla. He took out some wierd tools to prove I'm really one of the people that can claim to be big boned. He also told me not to drop below 145, that those simulations that show my ideal weight only take into account general populations and not individuals. Oh yeah, and it looks like I'm taller than 5'8 but for my dad's pride I'll stick to that
Also he added that I looked like a totally different person than 8 months ago. Other people have said that too, but I think it's a throwback to my eating disorder days that I can never see any weight loss (says the girl typing in her size medium Armani pants
)
He asked how I did it and I described my workout (1 hr cardio then 30 min weight training).......and then the diet.
"That sounds just like Atkins- good for you!"
I was in shock, he went on to say that Atkins/Diabetic diets are really very beneficial, even for those not losing weight.
So, I'm three pounds heavier than my ideal weight- I doubt today could get any better.
