  • Shirataki Noodles - I'm in HEAVEN! Mmmmmm!

I now know that I can low carb for the rest of my life!

These are so good! THESE ARE SOOOOO GOOD! I ate the whole 8 ounces yesterday for 2 Net CARBS (40 calories if you count those) - Ha ha ha! I couldn't stop but next time will only eat half because I was tooooooooo stuffed! WARNING! I think they expand in your tummy!

They are in the refrigerated section of the oriental grocery. I had to go to two oriental places because the word is out on these and the first place was sold out. I paid $1.99 per package. The water they are in stinks. Pour them in a strainer and run water over them to rinse then follow directions on package. I like these better than American pasta! They have texture when you chew which reminds me of the texture of a shrimp if it were a noodle - kinda chewy. I made a chicken parmesan sauce with butter and heavy whipping cream to go on top and was in heaven!

they also make these without the tofu in them and those are just shirataki noodles without the tofu word at the beginning. becareful the fist time you have them as they are very high fiber and water food and can cause intestinal issues for some.
we have topics on them with recipes for masking your own at home if you can't find them in your stores.

This happened to me when I ate the whole bag. Next time I'll eat just a serving. I made them with Thai Red Curry with scallops and prawns. Yummmm.

OMG - a legal noodle??! KEWL!!! But if they are made from soy beans and yam flour how can they be?

But I don't have an oriental store anywhere near here...
Pleeeze - someone speak up what are these made out of really - how / where else can you come by them?

they are misleading. the yam isn't an american yam and only the fiber, glucomannan, from it is used. they are really just fiber and water as this is the induction legal ingrediants glucomannan soluble fiber, purified water and calcium hydroxide. they are over 90 percent water they come tofu free like this http://www.konjacfoods.com/order/index.htm ( not saying order from here just click the links to see the different varieties of then soy free)

Re: Shirataki Noodles - I'm in HEAVEN! Mmmmmm!

Yay! I found them at Whole Foods, $1.99 for 2-serving bag. Of course, back in the day, the whole bag if it were Ramen would have been 1/4 to 1/6 what I'd eat in one sitting, and of course, at 10 packs/$1.00 it was quite affordable to do so, except for the fact that it all went to waist!

Anyway, it was really nice under the crab gumbo thing I'd made the night before, and pretty good, even though I'm not a tofu person, and that was all the store had.
