Just saw this new low carb line from Boots. Has anyone tried the shakes and bars?

    Boots locarb chocolate flavour shake
    Nutritional information per 330ml serving:

    Net carbs - 0.5g
    Calories - 168
    Protein - 20g
Carbohydrate - 0.7g, of which 0.1g are polyols
Fat - 9.2g, of which saturates are 1.3g
    Fibre - 2.6g

A chocolate and caramel flavoured protein bar fortified with vitamins and minerals, wrapped in a smooth dark chocolate flavour coating with sweetener.

Boots locarb chocolate & caramel flavoured bar
    Nutritional information per serving:

    Net carbs - 3.5g
    Calories - 198g

Carbohydrate - 26g, of which polyols are 19g

The website doesn't say what the sweetener is though. Can someone verify this? Thanks.

Edit: I'm looking at the Slim Fast Low Carb Low Cal range as well. There's a whole range of flavours. Has anyone tried these too?

      TESCO'S CARB CONTROL

My branch of Tesco have started stocking their own range of low-carb stuff called 'Carb Control'

I bought a few strawberry yogurts from the range last week. They were quite tasty, but a lot more expensive than just buying a tub of greek yougurt.

If you are registered at tesco.com you can access the list of goods available in your local store if you look in the groceries section.

I spotted quiche, chicken & veg dishes and a few other bits and bobs.

They also had Atkins branded yogurts too...

I do miss yogurt. by the time I am ready to eat them they might have them in scotland. As you say greek yougurt and added berries would do the trick too. ha

                      Ice cream?

Now that the weather here is showing vague signs of improving, I was wondering if any of the Brits knew of any low-carb ice-creams available? Or should I just buy myself an ice-cream maker?

Hi, from what I can tell there isnt any lo carb ice cream available to us in the uk at all.

I may be wrong though, so please dont quote me on it. I've never wanted the ice cream so I have never really looked for it. It may be available so others may know.

                          Morrisons

                          Hi
Just been in to my local morrisons and spent the best part of an hour looking through the shelves. I found 'The Black Farmer' sausages, 6 in a packet, 400g per packet. 0.2g carb per 100g so abount 0.2g per sausage. I have'nt tried them yet but they sure look good. Can we eat these on induction?

                            Hi Colin.

I have always been dubious about our sausages in the UK. But at 0.2 grams of carbs per sausage that is extremely low.

                            So yes they are ok.

My recomendation though would be for you to cut them out for the first 2 weeks of induction. Just to be on the safe side.

Us British people have a bit of a rough deal with sausages really.

I hope this helps (a little).
