  • Week of November 26 Atkinites =)

    Goodmorning you guys!

Time to start a new thread. A fresh new week of new challenges that we will be facing each and every day. Yes, this is a challenge that we are doing, but you know what? I think we are doing an awesome job despite some cheating here and there. But hey, at least we admitted to them and jumped right back on the band wagon. I think, with being here for the past two weeks, that we are much stronger people than we thought we were, and look where we are now? Two weeks in with a weigh in on Wednesday!

Are you guys starting to tell a difference in the mirror, or do you feel any lighter? I know I am! I don't look as bloated as I used to. (Thank goodness TOM is over....) And I think I have lost a few more pounds, but only Wednesday will tell. =) It feels really nice to have a lot more energy and not be so tired all the time.

My advice, set some goals for yourself. Not hard ones, but ones you know that you can accomplish. Take it one day at a time and if you mess up? Well, admit that you did it, jump right back on and defeat those evil carb demons. I know you guys can do it.

So, reflect on the last two weeks and let us know how you feel about being here today.

You guys are awesome motivation and I'm so glad that I found you in the first place. Without you, I don't think I would be here today. It's just so nice to come on here to post my successes and my failures and you guys encouraging me along. That's what a group is all about. Teamwork. Have a beautiful day and I'll catch you on the flip side! =)

Re: Week of November 26 Atkinites =)

Well it hasn't been two weeks for me as of yet. Today is day 7 for me...well 6 I guess because I cheated on the weekend *sigh* I'm right back at it now, making sausages, eggs and some kind of veg with it for breaky. I have to tell you, slipping up and eating that pizza...ya it tasted good but after I felt like POOP!! I felt all bloated like I did before starting induction!! I much prefer the feeling of satisfaction after a no-cheating day. My new goal (inspired by Bekka) is to go 7 days cheat free. Also do my work outs 5x a week as planned.

As Bekka said, I already feel different. Definately less bloated (more so before my cheat!) my face looks slimmer and my tummy is definately shrinking. Must be those 200+ crunches I'm doing 5x a week!!

Well everyone, here's to the start of a new week and new mini goals for us all. so tell us what are you going to do different this week????

Re: Week of November 26 Atkinites =)

Been a tough day for me kind of. I snuck a peak at the scale and found that my weight has not budged. I had a feeling something was up. My dairy intake has been way over the top and starting today I am going to cut that out as it tends to be something I over indulage on even though I stay below my 20 carb minimums.

Glad everyone is hanging on for dear life. Kind of like what Richard says, just got to keep on keeping on.

            Hi Brian,

Maybe cutting out some of that dairy will do wonders for you!! It's great that you're paying attention to things that could stall weight loss. Remember to measure though, don't always rely on the scale itself!!

Well thought i would check in....dont have much to say right now, just moving right along. I ran out of coffee so im not drinking coffee or having cream. Hope that helps. I sure like coffee in these winter months though. Im trying my best to stay off the scale. Its harder than i thought it would be since i got a digital scale. Well we will see what happens Wednesday, im not too worried about it....Seems like everyone is going good right now though...Keep up the good work.

Yooo hooooo.. yeap.. I finally fit into 44 jeans and the 14-days induction is not yet over for me..

This simply means that I have lost in my 2nd week more than what I lost in my first, but I am not stepping on this scale yet. Will still wait for Wednesday. I knew there was something wrong. The only thing I changed from the first week to the 2nd is the artificial sweetners, I stopped that completely, haven't had a single one for about a week now, I think these nasty little things were slowing me down.

Well, anyway, just wanted to update the thread with this, my daughter was like "you sure look skinnier" ..

                    Hey guys!!

9 days cheatfree! wOOt! I am so incredibly happy that I feel much better now. I look a lot skinnier too. But, that's due to going to the restroom a lot. Oy, it gets a bit annoying when I'm at work, but at least it wastes some time. Can't wait til Wednesday.

I'll catch you guys on the flip side!! Muahz! Have a great night.

Re: Week of November 26 Atkinites =)

Hey gang, recieved some bad news yesterday and the first thing I do is punish myself by overeating gobbs of bad stuff. I layed in bed last night with a 14 oz bottle of canned whip cream and slowly but methodically killed it off. It struck me how I am no different then the guy who can't put down the bottle or turn away from the needle. Honest to God, I am no better then the guy laying in the street smelling of alcohol. The main difference is that my drug of choice does not incapacitate me as his does. Otherwise we are brothers in arms. Eating Atkins is about so much more than losing weight. It is about being healthy and staying away from addiction. Abstain, that is my new word and goal. Sugar and refined carbs are a drug, I must abstain. I am going to take a couple days off from the board to get my head right. I am in this battle to win it and not quit. You guys are my mentors and peers and the only people I have ever associated with that understand what I deal with. See you on Thursday.

                      Brian

Brian, I am sorry to hear that something happened. I hope everything is okay! As for getting past your addiction I know it is tough. I must have started and stopped Atkins a hundred times over the past few years. But once you really put your mind to it and start to understand why you turn to food the success follows. The important thing is not to quit. Come back and start a clean induction. At the end you'll feel a lot better and be rid of a lot of the cravings. Everyone here will support you through the challenges.

Hi everyone. I haven't been here for a few days so I hope everybody is ok.
Can't believe that its weigh in tomorrow. That was such a fast week,
Is anyone moving onto OWL this week?
I don't know if I should or if I should stay on induction for a while longer. Maybe I'll decide after tomorrow.

Although I'm a bit disappointed, I completly understand what you're going through. I'm thankful and glad that you're not going to give up, Brian. Take these two days and remember that we are thinking about you and hoping that you're doing well. It's hard to kick an addiction, but with enough will power, anyone can do it. I know you're a strong person because you sat through a whole meeting craving that pizza, but did you take a slice? No, you didn't. You have enough strength to do this! So, start over, kick that addiction and we'll be right here, waiting for you. (Oooh, a song...) And thank you for that message. I feel inspired that I have motivated you. I'm glad that you care about us, as much as we care about you, too. See you on Thursday! I'm praying for you man!

As for me, Gaaa Blaaa Errg! I don't wanna go to school. I just want to relax and take another day off. -huffs and puffs- Oh well. I'll get my break eventually. At least I woke up before the alarm clock went off, I think that would have made me completly groggy. So um, I can't believe I will be in double digits of being cheatfree. I think that's amazing. I looked at myself in the mirror this morning, I know, so vain I am...and DAMN, I look hot. Woo, and my pants are starting to fall off. Must...wear...a belt. Oy. I hate belts, but I gotta do it since I can't afford buying pants on a regular basis. I have those size 15 dickies waiting for me.

Umm, I should be getting ready for school. Ugh..... -.- I'll talk to you guys later. Hope you're doing well.

                              Brian,

Sorry to hear that, yea as Bekka said, take these 2 days off if it makes you feel better and start a new clean induction afterwards. I know it is hard, but it is doable just be put your mind into it and you will pass this.

Inkylady, yes my 14th day on induction is today, so tomorrow morning is officially my OWL. I am thinking the same thing about extended induction, but if I do that it will only be till the end of the week. Remember, extended induction is not part of Atkins, people usually do it to makeup the cheat days they might have done during the 14-days induction.
