  • Starting 02/10-02/11??

Since I'm STAC-ing it (ok more like THIRD time arounding it) and noticed folks starting in the same time frame, I thought I'd start a post to see which of us will be hopping into this lifestyle at the same time and maybe we can encourage each other to stick with it and stay motivated?

I'm Brittney. My goal is to lose 50.8 lbs total. I'm currently 165.8.

Hi Brittany, Im starting tomorrow 2/11. Im currently 170 and I want to loose a total of 40lbs maybe a little more. My mini goal is to be down to 155 by 3/21. I know its only 5 weeks and a 50/50 chance but im gonna work hards towards that first goal. Then my second mini is 145 by the end of may and my last to be at 135 by 7/1. I definately want to be in better shape for the summer.

I have to be very strict during induction and follow the plan.

Goodluck to all of us sticking to it and reaching our goals!!!!

Oh yeah I know inches are just as important as the scale so lets all measure at least our bust, waist, hips and thighs. I will post mine tomorrow.

    Have a good sunday!!!!

I'm starting tomorrow too. I'm currently 246.5 My initial goal is to get to 200, and then I feel like I'll have a clear head to think. 200 sounds so fat, and I'm still almost 50 pounds away from that! GAH! I need to think of this differently or I'm going to get overwhelmed before I even start!

I say keep motivated and really just remember.. it took us some time to get to these pre-Atkins sizes, it will take the same effort to get ourselves back!

I keep my measurements and stats linked to a spreadsheet in my signature if anyone ever wants to know.

Hello Ladies, How is everyone this monday morning? Today is day 1 of induction for me and so far its going good. I know im gonna get the headaches and the blood sugar crash in the next few days and Im prepared. I always used to get tired right after having lunch. Luckily my boss is out ot town this week so I wont have to worry about him peeking in while I nap at my desk during lunch.

Ok just wanted to check in and say hello to all!!!!

Morning ladies!!! Maybe we should keep this thread alive, posting our little group progress as we go? I'm petite, too, Minu, I'm 4'10" so I should be apparently around 110-120. I'm shooting for 115-120 because I'm somewhat big boned/curvey. I used to be that weight and loved it - but apparently not enough to not gain it all back, huh? LOL.

This morning was good. I ended up having a slice of the Cheeseburger Quiche I made last night (I am NOT a cook but that thing is easy and TASTY!) for breakfast. My lunch is tuna with lettuce and bacon (dont ask - the chicken turned out to be spoiled) and I think some garlic butter roast and steamed broccoli will be dinner. I'm all about the easy-cook meals!

                Re: Starting 02/10-02/11??

Wow the Garlic butter roast sound yummy? Can I get the recipe. 2 of my favorite things, garlic and butter!!!

Well my breakfast ended up being a pork chop which I was planning to have for dinner but I didnt realize till this morning that the bacon I bought was hickory flavored. Duh, in my mind the enitre time I kept saying no sugar and my hand just grabbed one and didnt think to check the label. Soooooo breakfast was good. Lunch im having steamed shrimp which was leftover from a party this weekend and I picked up some cobb salad with no dressing cuz I forgot to buy dressing. I obviously did a bad job shopping this weekend as I forgot a lot of things. Dinner I will have the other half of my pork chop and steamed veggies. I have mozarrela balls for snacking today. I need to get some pork rinds!!!!

So Im curious to see how many of us is actually exercising? I know its important to do but Im thinking I will pass it up especially during this first week of induction. I tend to get tired as I go through the withdrawal phase. I am doing situps and pushups which I had started about 2 weeks ago every other day so I will keep up with that. I think next week I will see about starting the DVD's again. Anybody do P90 from beachbody?

Ok I better get back to work.

                  Re: Starting 02/10-02/11??

LOL I'm just not a cook, my "garlic butter roast" is exactly that. I melt butter with garlic salt, then pour it over a round roast and pop it in the oven. It simmers and comes out pretty tasty. Have you tried the Cheeseburger Quiche receipe? Its SO good. Not that we're supposed to count calories, but I do have to really watch myself around it because I think its somewhere around 600 calories a hefty slice (1.8 carbs a slice) and I could sincerely eat all 6 slices in one sitting I bet. LOL.

I'm pretty traditional. My lunch is something I can toss together the night before.. I have a big bag of Tyson chicken breasts diced and sweetbutter lettuce. I toss it my portions into a tupperware container the night before and occassionally crisp 2 slices of bacon and crumble it in there as well. I'm trying to learn variety though!

I'm starting slow with exercise. I used to love the ellipitcal and go for about an hour at a time. I recently went and thought I just might die after about 8 minutes. Nice hint to myself I'm out of shape! =) So now I walk my dog at a decent pace for an hour in the evenings (he's just as tubby as I am!) and I work situps and squats in wherever - such as during commercial breaks when my shows are on.

Well done all of you for joining this thread. I can see you will all get a lot of support and encouragement from each other which will help you all become losers
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                        Re: Starting 02/10-02/11??

Hey all! My 1st Monday was pretty good, except for a HUGE mid-day cheat, but I'm pretending that it didn't happen otherwise I'll just say "F it!" and stop altogether.

Breakfast was 2 scrambled eggs with bacon, tuna salad and celery sticks for lunch, 3 chicken drumsticks for late lunch, 2 mozzarella sticks for a snack, and dinner was 2 cups of cauliflower and some ground beef & onions stroganoff thing that my husband made, which was surprisingly good! He's not doing Atkins, but he was recently diagnosed with Type II diabetes so he does eat a lot of low-carb meals because of that.

I tried to drink NO diet coke today, but ended up having a 20 oz. bottle at work PLUS a 12-oz. can when I got home. I'm used to drinking like 3-4 DC's a day, so I guess that's some improvement.

I'm really trying hard not to beat myself up for not being perfect. I think in my past attempts at Atkins, I thought that any little flub meant that I was a failure. In my efforts to do things "by the book" I was too black & white about what was & wasn't Atkins. This is a good strategy if you're in the black, but not so much when you fall into the white! I don't even know if that makes sense, but if I have to cruise around the grey area until I figure it out, then I'm ok with that.

Today was good. I'm PMS-y this week so I must stay extra focused.

                          Breakfast
                          1 slice Cheeseburger Quiche

                          Snack
                          Cheddar Cheese square

                          Lunch
                          2 cups lettuce
                          Tuna
                          Hidden Valley Ranch Peppercorn dressing
                          2 slices bacon

                          Snack
                          Minibel cheese circle

                          Dinner
                          Garlic Butter Roast
                          1 cup steamed broccoli

My two downfalls - I totally porked out on the roast. I apparently proved Dr Atkins wrong about a person not being able to sit down to a movie and eat a grip of meat, LOL. My other downfall is I only drank about 64 ounces of water today and I was shooting for 100.

I also did a very pathetic walk with my dog for exercise. Tomorrow will be better!

Time for me to fess up - I stepped away from Atkins for 2 weeks and gained back 4 pounds. Semi-redstarted last week (had to give myself a couple extra days of fruit...my fav in the world and I had already bought it, so didn't want to waste it). So until today I've done lowcarb with a couple of cheats (I'm DEFINITELY NOT saying I was on plan!). Decided to get on plan again today. I've at least re-dropped the 4 pounds I had gained previously...

So...tomorrow will be day 1 technically since I Started at dinner tonight. Dinner was a cube steak, some zucchini (saute'd in olive oil), and (this sounds kinda gross and I have a gassy belly 'cause of it) a can of deviled ham with some mustard.

For drinks I have a VERY VERY hard time with water (it makes me gag - literally...and I love the 'taste' or lack thereof of it) so I drink grape kool-aid with Splenda (talked to my doc abt this as I'm type II diabetic and she was all for it).

I think tomorrow I will have a glass of water for every glass of kool aid I allow myself...I'll try at least!

                            Crystal

                            Mini Goals:
                            235
                            225
