Default 30 day coleslaw

I started making this a few years ago and eveyrone who has tried it likes it more than the mayo based dressings. A recipe of this will last for up to 30 days in the refrigerator and makes a quick snack. I always serve this with pulled pork or smoked brisket/ribs as a side dish. It has a nice tart flavor that pairs well with smoked meats.

1 large head of cabbage, finely shredded
1 medium bell pepper, finely chopped
1 medium sweet onions, finely chopped
.
Dressing:
1/4 splenda
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 cup cider vinegar

combine all the dressing ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and stir it around. Let it set for about 2 hours to get full flavor.

Do you pour this over the cabbage when it is hot or wait until it has cooled down?

while it is still hot. It will wilt the cabbage a little bit and give it a nice texture.
