Default Official 6WEC Rules

WELCOME TO THE 6 WEEK EXERCISE CHALLENGE. PLEASE READ THE RULES OF THE CHALLENGE BEFORE SIGNING UP.

1. Make a record of your starting measurements (inches and pounds):
-Chest ~ under your arms
-Fullest part of chest ~ across nipples
-Ribcage ~ just below breast
-Waist ~ narrowest part
-Hips ~ widest part
-Upper arm x 2 ~ midway between shoulder and elbow
-Thigh x 2 ~ about 3 inches down from crotch
-Weight

The above measurements are the ONLY ones that will count for the challenge. You don't have to post measurements for everyone to see. You can just write them down somewhere safe for later reference.

2. Decide how many days a week you promise to exercise. The challenge weeks run from Sunday to Saturday. For charting purposes, you must sign up before the challenge begins. .

3. Things like walking, jogging, running, weightlifting, swimming, playing sports, etc count as exercise. Other things like mowing and gardening also count. Activites such as washing dishes or folding laundry do not qualify, sorry.

4. Try to report in EACH day, in the Six Week Challenge/Exercise forum, in the appropriate thread. Look for a thread titled something like "6 WEC #52, Week 1, Day 1, Sunday, April 19". I understand that sometimes you're just too busy or your computer is down so you can't post. Just report in as soon as you can so I can get you caught up on the chart. If you have not checked in for 14 days in a row you will be removed from any updated charts. I will not send out private messages to remind you to post. You're more than welcome to sign up for a future challenge.

5. Once the challenge ends, you have 7 days to review the charts and post your losses in inches and pounds if you want to be considered for a ribbon. Winners are determined first by inches lost and then by pounds lost. The top 3 winners will be announced the following Sunday and will receive ribbons that can be placed in their signature if they choose to do so.

6. I will also award "Slug Free" buttons one week after the challenge has ended. To earn the Slug Free Award you must have completed and reported ALL 6 WEEKS of the challenge without receiving a slug.

7. Graphics and explanation for each are as follows. There will be no more sick days awarded. :
This graphic is charted for days that a Challenger reports exercise.
This graphic is charted for rest days.
PERSONAL TIME OUT.... PTO days will replace sick days. It will also be used for days that a Challenger finds themselves too busy for exercise and other circumstances that find a Challenger pressed for time. Consider it a 'free day'. A Challenger will be allowed to use 5 PTO days during the challenge. All 5 can be used as needed meaning, all at once, 1 per week or not at all. These days will not count against you or your committed days.
This graphic will be charted when a Challenger didn't exercise and will not be able to fullfill the committed days
