| Hi! I used to buy the frying cheese at my local Walmart but it has been missing from the shelves for about six months. I talked to the manager and he is checking on if they will be getting any more in the future. I LOVE this cheese!!!! Can anyone tell me another place that might carry it? Thanks!!!! |

| Oh man! I gotta try this! When I lived in Chile there was this place that made little cakes (like 4" across) that was purely fried cheese, this must be like that stuff. It was crispy outside and kind of gooey inside. One good addition, was I think they put Oregano or some kind of spice on top of it as it cooked...mmmm... I think one of the tricks was to use a form of some type to keep it very round and have edges. Perhaps some kind of ring...

| Higgies, the stuff I buy comes in a rectangular shape. the pieces when fried, dont change shape at all so I dont imagine that you would need a form/ring at all. (If you find some thats different, a washed out, both ends removed, tuna can would work for you. be careful because it will be HOT)

| I know this is an older thread, but I'm Arabic and I grew up on Halloumi, which is the Arabic cheese that doesn't melt. Here's the Wiki on it: Halloumi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia When you grill it or fry it, it actually looks like chicken. The taste is FANTASTIC. I love to eat it with cucumbers and olives. (And it's Induction friendly.) I take one of those stovetop grill pans, put a thin coating of olive oil, and heat it up for a minute or two. While it's heating, I slice the Halloumi cheese into 1/2 inch slices. Then I fry it. Sometimes I like to sprinkle ground pepper or thyme on them. If you're sick of the typical cheese snacks, try this in your recipes instead. You'll love it! I adore it grilled and then chopped up in my salads. Our grocery store sells Halloumi in the gourmet cheese section. I bet most grocery stores in urban areas carry it. Enjoy! |

| You can also do the waffle recipe on Linda's site and omit the cinnamon and splenda and add italian herbs...then toast it in the oven with cheese on top. |
