I think it's going to be difficult going low-carb in DK - so many delicious sweets (my fave is kransekage) and a lot of the foods have sugar, high carbs and flours in them (like frikadeller, guleærter, grønlangkål, lagkage, bixemad) :yummy STILL there are Danes who do Atkins successfully! I hope you do lose the 8kg you are striving for - I am 63-65kg at the moment, also 5'5 and my goal is the same as yours. I am finding it difficult to lose these last kg - very slow. But age is on your side for you! You are still young (not like us oldies whose metabolism slow down as we get older *hehe*) You do look pretty good in your photo though Cheers

If you haven't read the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, edition 2002, that is the book that we base our way of eating on. It will answer lots of questions you may have. Best wishes and please keep us posted on your progress. Congratulations on quitting smoking too. I know how hard that is to do also!!

| I have just ordered this book at the library so I'll definitely read it this week. As far as I am concerned after 14-days induction I just have to start to add 5 more grams carbohydrates every week until I reach the point where my bodyweight doesn't change anymore and go on eating this way all my life... :tweety am I right? |
