Unhappy New to this and alot of weight to lose

Hi Everyone,

I actually started the induction yesterday, and today i felt really bad aches headache, stomach cramps, bad tummy, i thought i have a bug caught somthing, then i just read a bit about "induction flu" i havent stuck to the diet today as i thought i was ill but if its just withdrawals then im feeling a bit stupid now

Has anyone else had any problems like these and how long do they last, I havent got the books yet but they should arrive from amazon tomorrow.

I really do need to lose alot of weight about 70lbs and im hoping this will be the diet for me i just need to know if the way im feeling today is going to be how im going to be feeling on the induction as i really dont think i will be able to cope with it if it is??

Look forward to hearing from anyone

Take care

LOL, Ill bet if you do a search on Induction flu you will get over a 1000 hits. Take some over the counter asprine or tylonal, pamper yourself and it will be gone in the morning.

Chubby,

Welcome to the club. Almost everyone has induction flu. Some have it worse than others, but most people do have it. Heck, I would be more surprised if a person did not have it. My husband had it for a week and he was a BEAR! It will pass; just stick with the plan. We are all here to help. Welcome!

Deb

Welcome to

I am also fairly new to this lifestyle and had this same problem when I first began. The first 3-4 days were total misery consisting of massive headaches, stomach cramps, and diarrehea...uggh...it was terrible! I honestly didn't know if I would make it! But I did...and you will too! Just try to stay positive and remember that it will pass and you will have some wonderful side effects as a result....weightloss and loss of appetite! Woohoo!

Good luck to ya! I hope to see you around the boards soon!

First welcome to ADBB! We all started from somewhere, and unfortunately for most of us it starts with Induction flu. It is our body adjusting to the new Way of Eating and burning off the rest of the glycogen in your muscles. The actual physical symptoms should cease in a day or two (3-4 days at max) because your body should adjust to ketosis by then.

I had a case of Induction flu bad, but mine was more mental. It lasted about 2-3 weeks at least. I lost most of my old comfort foods, but guess what I soon learned new comfort foods, like a mock danish or the joy of eating fajitas or steaks again. Eventually, eating low carb was not an imposition to be overcome but just the way I ate. Keep drinking your water (it helps a lot), and keep reminding yourself of the reason you are doing this in this first place (you want to look good, lose weight, get into an outfit, whatever).

In two weeks, I guarantee you will be feeling better than you are today.
