bluebonbon is on a distinguished road
Default Back to lowcarb after a long delay

Hi, my name is bluebonbon and I was doing quite well in 2003, 2004 and lost 65 lbs. Then my hubby had a heart attack and I got derailed. I couldn't seem to get back on course and it only got worse the past 6 months. I haven't regain all of it but did gain about 1/2 back so I decided to get back on course again. I think this time I need to spend more time exploring my reactions to stress and food. I am restarting and intend to keep it up for the rest of my life this time. Nobody is going to get me off my plan this time. It worked for me before but I have read that it is harder the second time around....any suggestions?

Welcome to ADBB and back to Atkins.

I'm sorry for your stress and regain, but I'm glad you're getting yourself back on track. There's a lot of great information in the various forums and a lot of people to provide support.

You may have seen the Atkins for Health Section of the board, but if not you may be interested in checking out the Emotional Eating and Atkins forum; also, the Second Time Around Club (STAC) in the Atkins for Support Section.

Atkins is a great plan, and you can be as success as you want to be, whether it's your first or second time...follow the rules of Induction and OWL and you'll do great!

Glad you're head and hope to see you around the board.

welcome to ADBB and back to Atkins.

Just dont believe it will be any different and it will not. look at this as your first time. you have remembereed the good parts and blocked the bad parts from your earlier Atkins we all do it with all kinds of things. Just look At this as your first time doing Atkins you just happen to know the rules and the reason whey exercise is mandatory and water is so important and not eating anything not on the list already. Now get ready for the induction flu you know will it cause you know in a few days you will feel great again. Join some of our exercise challenges, join the journal chats and get lots of support and check in with the 14 day induction folk so you can whine about the lack of pasta bread whatever your former favorite food was with folk experiencing the same feelings. Move to OWL when you are ready and most of all love every minute of it and you will again be a big loser. Happy low carbing.
