Exclamation Stalled Induction.

Hello to all. Hope this finds you well
My name is Karen, I am 35 single Moms to a toddler. I lost 35lbs on Atkins in 2001. A God send, when nothing else would work. I am one of those few who are metobic resistant and have had a Doctor who recomended Atkins in the past... agree w/ me. I don't know how many here would be able to relate to this. But, could really use some advice or support. See I since have had a baby. I went off Atkins for my pregnancy and nursing. Now I find myself 35-40 lbs over wieght again. I started back on Atkins Feb. 9th. I was so happy to see the first 7 lbs come off the first 10 days. Keep in mind Induction for me is 10-15 carbs a day. Yet I have not lost ONE pound since! I am so discouraged. Before I had a few members of my family on the Diet as well. So there was support there. Now I am on my own. Well, Hopefully no more after finding this site

Hi!

If you would like some of the veteran folks to review your menu and see if there is possibly something stalling you, then go to the "forums" index and post it in "Review my Menu". They may be able to help you.

Have you also measured inches? You may be losing inches instead of pounds right now.

Don't give up! It will be worth it.

Thank you for the reply! I will try the menu thing.. when my child stops climbing all over me I have not measured inches. But, keep trying on tight pants and have not had much of a difference. Tight pants that were too big before baby.
I am starting to wonder if it is harder for other people to go back to Atkins after going off and gaining all their weight back?

Hello, Karen. I am in the same boat that you are in. My body seems to love being chubby. I however, am going to fight it every fluffy inch of the way. I lost 20 lbs last year on Atkins, then we moved and everything just sort of fell apart.I gained it all back plus an extra 2. And I gave away all of my fat pants because there was no way I was ever wearing them again! I'm back on the wagon now though, on an extended induction and have only lost a total of 4 lbs so far. I look at it as 4 lbs that I don't have stuck to me, so that's a good thing! I do seem thinner throught he middle....I never really know how to measure correctly....do you pull the tape really tight or do you just "float it on top" ?
Keep at it, it will work and you will fit back into those pants again!

Oh my gosh, I gotta tell ya girl, my weightloss the second time on Aktins HAS been slower. But DO NOT, DO NOT give up. I promise if you stick with it, it will turn out ok in the end. I started Atkins (for the 2nd time) January 1st this year. I have lost 23.5 pounds since then. But I have to tell you MOST of my weightloss has been in the last few weeks, NOT at the beginning. While I am still on strict induction (and choose to do so until I am with in 20 pounds of my goal) I barely lost during the first 2 weeks of induction. But I knew this was my last chance because I knew Atkins was the ONLY thing that ever worked for me and if I didn't get it off my second time around, I might never get it off. My resolve is super strong right now to get the weight OFF! I can see the scale move more in the last two weeks then any of the weeks before, and nothing in my eating habits have changed really. So hang in there. STICK WITH IT, no matter what! Keep coming back to the boards for encouragement, it sure helped me when I was getting bummed out. You are gonna be fine and look soooo fab when you are finished. Just remember, NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!

ypu don't say how longyou have been going this time. it is very normsal to have an after initialinduction hesitation in weight loss becuas of all the biochem changes going on in the body with fat burning off fluids being use as place holders and stuff.

make friends with the tape measure and watch the inches of fat bing shed as you morph your body. Check your body fat % too as you go and see it getting smaller too.

Are you drinking all your water doing the mandatory exercise part of your Atkins too?

Wow! You guys are great! Thanks!
I started the first time since Baby, Feb. 9th of this year. I lost the first 7 lbs within 10 days of that and have not lost and oz. since. I am and will have to conitue induction or I will gain. I constantly drink water all day long. Infact the keto strips I have tested are so light that most times I can't tell between beige and pink. I know that I should be happy that my wieght has not conintued to climb.. Because that is what it had been doing since Nov. of last year, I was up 17Lbs! With the same low fat, whole grain diet that had allowed me to lose most of my baby wieght. I am sure that nursing helped
lot of that loss. But, I stopped nursing 7 months ago. Hmmmm. Anywaz... Has anyone heard that the BBQ Pork Rinds are not 0Carb like they clame. I am wondering w/ sugar and sometimes even Wheat Flour in their list of ingrediants. However I don't think this is my stall problem. I mostly eat the plain. Never thought I would think Pig Skins was such a treat!

BackToAtkins we are all here to support you in whatever way we can - hang in there. Everyone seems to have stalls but it turns out great in the end just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine.

Hugs always,
