| BTW... I have been off this program for 9 months. A 'good' friend of mine convined me to incorporate 'whole grains' to my diet. I listened, and am now 35 lbs heavier, instead of 20 lbs, where I was when I stopped. Stupid... I'm back, happily. Gardenier.... |

| well, if you are trying to do a "clean induction" then yup, you cheated. But the bartender is right, 0 carbs in vodka. |

| Firstly, welcome! Great group here, awesome support and advice. If you're in induction, then, no alcohol - it is off limits by the book. Vodka does not have any carbs, however it is a fuel, just as carbs and fat are, and your body will burn the alcohol before it burns fat. Basically you delay fat burning. Once you move into the second phase of Atkins, Ongoing Weight Loss, there are different levels of reintroducing different foods. One of the levels is alcohol. If you look at the many stickies all over, you will find a lot of good advice.

| yep just cause a food is carb free doesn't mean it is legal for your phase. reread your DANDR and follow the program so you can be the loser you want to be. Alcohol is burned as a fuel as was pointed out, and when you pee out the by products the keto stix will react with them not ketones and show you are in deep ketosis so be warned don't use stix to say hey I'm in ketosis even after a hard night drinking as one uneducated ADBB memeber proudly posted.
